Most times you've ever beaten a single game?

I've probably played through The Curse of Monkey Island about 8 times now. Even though I can probably do most of the puzzles now off the to of my head I still like listening to all the dialogue in that game. Easily one of the best written games ever (along with the first two MI's).

The most ever I suppose for me would have to be Fallout 1. At this point I played it around 17/18 times.

I've played through Chrono Trigger 23 times (alternate endings aren't factored in).

How about this... im on my 21st playthrough of broken sword: shadow of the templars :P.

Probably Super Mario Land or Desert Strike.

While I have completed several games over 10x, the one that comes to mind immediately is Resident  Evil 4. Ive lost count.

Half-life 2 about 4 times, including the same amount for it's episodes. (I just got this for X360 for the achievements and now it's almost five playthroughs.)
I've completed MGS1+2+3 about five times each.
Oblivion was hard to go back to but I had a yearning, so now it's the third time I've completed it. Same for Fallout 3 (I like this game more than oblivion though, many people may knock me for that comment, but I don't care.)
Star wars: KOTOR+KOTOR 2. 4 times.
Crysis+Crysis Warhead. 3 times.
Neverwinter nights 2. 2 times. that game is just darn fun.
GTA IV+all other 3rd-person GTA's about 2-3 times.
Mass effect about 2 times. (I need to do this another 2 times to get ALL of the achievements available.)

And the list goes on and on... etc, etc.
Needless to say I love my games. ;-)

I'm sure I've probably beaten the original Contra over 100 times...I'm sure there are a lot of old games I've beaten many, many times due to the relative short length of games back in the day.

Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers 3.

I beat Resident Evil 4 15 times on the Wii.  I beat it once on the Gamecube.

I've played through the first Halo probably six times, and FFIX about three times.

I've definately beaten Mario 3 at least 20 times. Besides that, probably symphony of the night 6 or so times.

I've played through the original Star Fox, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Chrono Trigger more times than I can count and continue to do so, because I love those games. They are some of my all time favorites.

I usually only beat games once now.  I beat Uncharted twice, second time for trophies.

Back in the day I probably beat Super Mario 3 on the NES a zillion times with warps.

Most likely MGS4, beat it around 13 times within just the summer.... which means there's still room for me to play through it more in the future.

Zelda: Twilight Princess, about 8 times. And RE4 6 times in three different consoles.

Final Fantasy 8. I've beaten it close to 7 times. Kingdom hearts 2 I've beaten 4-5 times or so I believe.

Original Contra on the NES, probably 30 or 40 times if you count all the times I've played it on an emulator since my NES died.

The Original Super Mario Bros., Using Warps, about a million times.  Actually, I've lost count.  A Distant second would be Super Metroid (about 10 times), and Third, A Link to the Past (about 6 times).  Gun is an honorable mention with 4 times.  And I've played numerous games at least twice.


Edit:  Oh!  I forgot about TMNT arcade and Turtles in time!  I've finished them probably at least 30 times each.

Mafia; somwhere around five times.

Played Mass Effect through four times, Fallout 3 i did three times, Resident Evil 2 i have lost count on. RE4 around 5 times same goes for RE5. Too many to remember, most games i only beat once though, it has to be really compelling for me to beat it a second time.

I played through kotor 4 or 5 times.

Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, Chains of Memories and the different Final Mixes.
Kingdom Hearts: 6 times
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix: Once
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories: 10 times
Kingdom Hearts 2: 5 times
Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix + : Twice

I've beat Chrono Cross about eight times, atleast.

I've beaten Goldeneye 007 probably the most times. Ratchet & Clank Future, Uncharted, Super Mario 64 and OOT all come close though.

I've beaten Sonic 1 more times than I'm willing to say.

GTA: San Andreas 5 times, I cannot stop playing that game.

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master. I have beaten that game 20 times-each at a different difficulty and with a different amount of shurikens. Its the best game on the Genesis in my opinion.

And I am about to complete it again...

MGS 4 about 6 times

3 times on a couple of games.  3 is my limit I guess.

For me it would be Chrono Trigger.  I've played it so many times with the new game + so Ayla could get her Iron Fist upgrade.  That, and the other endings.  The game became like a dried up girlfriend, I actually grimaced at the DS release.

The game I've replayed the most has to be half life 2. But that is maybe 5 or 6 times.

I have also played all BioWare RPG's at least twice to play through as a good guy and then as a bad guy. I can't play the bad guy first for some reason.

I've beaten Diablo 2 at least once with every character so I'm guessing about 8-10 times in total (including 4-5 playthroughs with the expansion).

Other than that I don't usually beat a game more than once or twice, if I even beat it all...

Probably Halo 1/2/3 and Pokemon Blue/Silver.

I have over 40 hours of gameplay clocked in on RE5. Have all the achievements(except for those stupid multiplayer ones).

I finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance three times.  I also finished Ratchet Deadlocked 5 times.  I rarely ever play through a game twice though.  These are just a couple of exceptions.

Most definitely Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. I've went through it at least 20 already, and working on another playthrough as we speak.

I do a yearly playthrough of OoT. so that puts the total up to like 8 or 9 times on that one.

I've beaten Oblivion 4 or 5 times. I haven't done EVERY quest in the game, but I've saved Tamriel from Mehrunes Dagon many a time. I'm so cool.

I start games multiple times, but usually only beat them once. At the most I'll play through a game on a harder difficulty a second time to get the achievements - like Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield: BC.

My most is probably Final Fantasy Tactics, and I maybe beat that 4 or 5 times.  You can play the game so many different ways, so it always felt fresh.  Usually I'll only play something once if its a linear type of game. 

I don't know the exact number but I'd say I've played thru and beaten Super Metorid at least 50 times. Every year since about 1999 I've beaten it on average 5 times a year, I've already done it 3 times this year. Each year I get better and faster.

Max Payne on PC. My favorite game of all time happens to be one that I can come back to over and over.

Surely the question should be how many hours have you spent on a single game? People who have completed say Persona 4 5 times 100% is much, much more than people who have completed Little Big Planets Story mode 30 times.

I played through the Metal Gear: Solid about ten times. I loved that game.
