PlayStation 3, when to buy UK or USA???

Okay, i want to buy a PS3, but i have heard about this black friday thing, Americans have, sorry to be so naive but what is it, i have heard you can buy things cheaper, does this mean amazon.com will sell things cheaper, a PS3 for example. Also if i buy a US PS3 does that mean i can only play games on American servers and what will the power differences be???

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in America. I'm pretty sure Black Friday sales only count in stores. People wake up at 4am to go stand outside Best Buy, Circuit City, etc to get amazing deals.
