Say something nice about games you hate

You know the saying "If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all". I'm applying that to video games I hate.

Batman Forever - I like how every enemy had wacky and unique names on their life bars. You can tell the staff had fun coming up with them.

Final Fantasy 15 - The fishing minigame was really good and the food you made at the campsites looked really delicious.

Battletoads - Finally beating the game, albeit as an adult, felt like a real accomplishment.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park - That FMV at the end where Jeff Goldblum calls you a loser for beating the game is pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuYUoLM8BNA

Resident Evil 6 - Not that bad if you got a buddy to play co-op and goof on the cutscenes with.

Ubisoft games, they sure do hit a wide variety of settings and are extremely well-produced.

Death Stranding looks gorgeous and making big deliveries was satisfying.

D-Dog is a good boy.

Reinhardt and Roadhog are cool characters.

It's not difficult to find a game of Auto Chess.

I couldn't find something good to say about World of Warcraft.

Bloodborne- The controls are responsive

• That Hush bit in Arkham Knight was pretty cool
• The Force Unleashed had a great demo
• The ending reveal of The Outer Worlds is a great jumping-off point for a way better sequel
• Dark Souls made Load Our Last Souls possible

Morrowind is what some still call the best in series.

The characters in state of emergency have an enjoyable run animation. Wide stance.

The Dark Souls games have a huge base of fans that really love them. I also really like the style of the games.

Look, I don't really hate any game. Sometimes I get frustrated with lazy or manipulative design decisions and other times games do things that are interesting and they just don't click with me.

Bloodborne - They do a lot with environmental art without being a graphical powerhouse. Like a goth Nintendo.
Wolfenstein New Blood - If the main series spin offs are a place for them to test out different ideas, they had an opportunity to learn some lessons here.
Destiny - Bungie is among the best, if not the best, at making a console FPS game control in a way that doesn't feel hamstrung or clunky.
Ghost of Tsushima - Fighting and defeating enemies is satisfying enough on its own to keep me going in this very long game. Also, some side characters have surprisingly well acted moments.
Super Mario Odyssey - "Jump Up, Super Star" is a total banger and that whole segment is so outstanding that it almost invalidates this game showing up in my disappointing games list. Almost.

Visual novels are normally very short.

Dem Last Of Us's are very pretty looking.

Heavy Rain: I think the ambition of this game is genuinely commendable. They tried to make a game out of a genre like detective noir, which was not something really attempted before in the AAA space. And they eschewed tropes that were, at least at the time, just accepted as rote in games, like game overs, attack moves as base interaction, and so on. I remember people at the time really having to wrap their minds around the idea of a game where failure didn't end the game, just moved the story in a different direction.

The Call of Duty games are well made with responsive controls.

LA Noire had cool facial animation tech.

Zelda is okay as a character in Skyward Sword.

Transistor is very pretty and has great music.

morrowind has a very cool setting

The actual part where you shoot guns in Destiny 2 is sensational

Dragon Age 2 had a really cool “bottle setting over time” concept, and it was fun to see how the city evolved over the course of years.

The Outer Wilds is a game that everyone should at least try out.

The well realized art, setting, and world of Bloodborne helped curb my unnatural optimism and happy go lucky view of life.

Also 10 minutes of playing the game would have benefited me greatly in preparation for my day job.

Shadow of Mordor has some of the shiniest mud of this generation, and setting up an Orc warchief with 20 bodyguards all under your influence was fun once.

FIFA really, really does TV presentation of the sport well.

It was fun theorycrafting about different builds in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and I enjoyed the first chapter of the story.

Was going to say something about Mass Effect: Andromeda but I actually enjoyed most of that game (years after the release, but still)

True Crime LA sorta kinda led to Sleeping Dogs.

Multiplayer shooters can be fun after a while, for a while and the shit-talking can be pretty amusing.

Not many games I hate tbh.

DP2 allowed me to give swery money

Battle Royals are popular.

Chulip has a very fun, quirky concept that matches its aesthetic and does stand as a precursor to a lot of the unique titles we see nowadays.

Persona 4 is fun even if it does take away attention from other, much much better SMT/Persona games

I really like Erin's outfit at the start of Thief (2014).

The accessibility options in The Last Of Us Part II are second to none.

Ride to Hell: Retribution is the perfect yardstick to measure bad games by.

It was cool how Tomb Raider decided to make everyone play as a female character. No helmets, no storytwists, Here's Lara, play as her.

Smash Bros, as a series, really highlights the breadth of Nintendo's characters.

It's nice the Kingdom Hearts devs have access to many licenses and that they seem to be able to utilize the characters and worlds well.

It must be nice for the Paper Mario devs that they are given the freedom to make their games be any weird fusion genre that they want, just so long as it’s not a turn-based JRPG.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has the best tombs of the trilogy.

Forza has a pretty wide selection of vehicles.

Breath of the Wild was a bold direction to take Zelda in.

Left Alive had a pretty good team behind it.

Final Fantasy XIII is still a great looking game.

I like watching people play the classic Resident Evil games.

Even though I suck at them, I run into enough turn-based strategy games with interesting properties that I still feel an urge to learn to be good at and enjoy them.

I really don't hate any games I've played. So I'll stick to games that disappointed me:

Devil May Cry 2: A decent action game by itself, if you don't think of it as a sequel.

Saga Frontier 2: Beautiful colorful art design, excellent soundtrack.

Red Faction Gorilla - Remastered: Explosive action.

Hello Neighbor: Nice Dennis the Menace concept.

Street Fighter V: Not the best in the series, but its still Street Fighter.

Might think of more later.
