@tournamentofhate: Thanks for that, it'll make rewatching the ones I have missed so much easier now.
Summer Games Done Quick July 25th-29th!
Really thinking about getting 5 of the 7 shirts from TheYetee. They are all great this time around.
Oh no why did you show me this haha. What games are these dogs from? I figured out about half of them. http://theyetee.com/sda/detail.php?itemid=CANINESASSEMBLESGDQ
Oddly hyped for Doom 64.... even though I remember it being an awful version of Doom.
same.

I've seen Peaches run Doom 64 on his channel before and it's great.
N64 block coming up. Doom 64, Pilotwings 64, and Paper Mario.
Come on people, we can donate more for Ryan Davis as the save file name in Dark Souls.
Get behind this!
As long as the run is recorded you can go back and redo the timer, yeah. It's not a big deal. Some games actually require you do that as the margin for the record is seconds either way. The record holder for original Mario andrewg1990 has optimized that any% run to the point that he is trying to shave fractions of a second off the total time. As such, when he thinks he has achieved a personal best time, he goes back and times it exact to the single frame.
So watching all of this really makes me wanna find a game to run myself. My first inclination is Ninja Gaiden Black. A "No Items" run on normal seems like a cool run to start with. I know I can do no items or upgrades on normal at least. I could probably work my skills up to doing hard or very hard no items if I really worked at it.
@demoskinos: Haha same. I've been playing around with Dark Souls trying to go through that "fast". I feel like adding on some speed running strategies sometime.
@bane122: Back in the day there use to be a guy on the Metal Gear Solid boards by the name of Karma he did speed runs and I copied him and managed to do a No Saves, Zero Kills,Zero Rations run of Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes in 1hr 25 minutes.
His optimal run was eventually 1hr 8 minutes on extreme. Which you can watch here although the quality is very awful in the video as I believe he transferred his VCR recording to a DVD and then ripped the file. http://speeddemosarchive.com/MetalGearSolidTTS.html
I also remember attempting some runs of Resident Evil Zero that were just over 2 1/2 hours I think. I had most of this recorded on VCR back in the day but all of those tapes are long long gone. Which sucks. Cause I always feel like people don't believe me when I tell them this story. Would be nice to have the tape to prove it. Alas, its lost to time.
@truthtellah: Holy shit. That was fast GIF work.

The Internet provides. ♥
Wow. 1k for fusion afro dance in, like, what? 20 minutes? Insane.

Fucking sweet!
This year I got into both the speedrunning and fighting communities to an extent. It's been neat to find new areas of gaming fandom to explore.
I'm really hoping they can break 500k. They did over 450k at AGDQ 2103.
AGDQ 2103 where YSG has finally become one with the Internet hive mind?
@demoskinos: Thats not really reasonable to me. I'm pretty sure AGDQ was longer than SGDQ. The amount they've gathered so far during SGDQ is quite impressive though.
I've also been toying around with the idea of getting into the speedrunning scene as well. My games would probably be Malicious and Crescent Pale Mist.

Yeah, I'm guessing they'll break 200k, but this is just shorter than AGDQ. But, hey, could surprise. I mean, they've raised a few thousand in just the last few hours.

Don't forget bonus stream stuff as well. Even though the official schedule is only to the 29th they will go longer than that for at least a day or two if they feel like it.
Oh no! His Paper Mario glitch broke the stream! o_o
I'm glad the runner stopped while it was down this time. The missing first dungeon of Quest 64 was a bummer.

Even if you play conservatively with the combat, the sequence breaks can save a ton of time in Dark Souls. Learning the Blighttown leap of faith, Duke's skip, and Ceaseless skip will shave huge chunks of time off of any run, even if you fail hard at the rest of the game.
@demoskinos: Thats true, though AGDQ had a bonus stream as well. How much did ESA raise?
This Fusion dance will be amazing.
@ravenlight: Yeah, those are the things I was thinking of practicing.
Oh man, that fusion dance was hilarious.
Gonna watch a couple ours of the FF V run and then head to bed, not up to watching the whole thing, unless I decide to neglect sleep at the last possible moment.
@demoskinos: Yeah, that one is really good. The foot shuffle at the start is important.
