I have a feeling at least the first episode will degenerate into Ryan making fun of how all the dudes look like Goku. I don't know why, it just seems like a Ryan thing to do. The phrase "This Dragonball Guy" will be used at least once.

Oh yeah, there's also no VO in the game... A lot of quiet moments where they read text... 
 
Gah, I gotta be optimistic about this. They'll be able to name their Crono a silly name that will maybe become the next "Charlie Tunoku", they'll be able to vary their play style based on the various party members... Gotta think about stuff like that.

Patrick is awesome and Ryan is cool and I like Chrono Trigger so I am happy about this.

Kinda sad to hear one of them already played through it, one of the cool things of the other ERs was the surprises and the response that came out of Vinny and Jeff (or Ryan and Brad) during their games.

Wasn't it kinda cool when Nanako was in the hospital and she technically died to hear how Jeff and Vinny reacted?

Or when Thomas from Deadly Premonition got his face impaled on a huge fucking hook?

Now picture those moments but everyone knowing it happened..

AMAZING!!! right?

I wish it was Vinny and Jeff but they are busy with other features. Still awesome though.

Anyways, weird game to choose , I can't see myself enjoying this at all. Loved the other 2 ERs. Ah, well.

I hope they do their own voice work for all the text.

Maybe a coin-flip to see who gets each character.

Why all the hate (besides this being the internet)? I have played this game beginning-to-end countless times and I am really excited about this. Change can be O.K. people.

No Jeff or Vinny involved, and it's not a blind run?  How... I feel like we've been trolled.
 
I could get over no Jeff and Vinny, but replaying a game?  Are they attempting to ruin the enjoyment of the Endurance Run so they're never asked to do another one?  Ugh.  I feel foolish for getting excited, I should've controlled my expectations.
 
Hopefully they'll do the Game of the Year podcast the same way as last year.  I really enjoyed that format, and now I have doubts.

We'll see how it goes when it begins. I'm looking forward to it though. :)

patrick did say he last played it when it came out. I recently played FF9 a game which I played non stop and I complety forget huge sections of that game and that was only ten years ago

maybe they could do a live stream of the ER episodes for just premium members, along with the usual posted daily videos for everyone?

btw this is from someone who isn't a premium member, I just think it'd be a neat idea.

I remember a bunch of games still that I played when I was 11. It all comes back to me when I'm playing the games I once played back in the day. I'm not saying that I won't be watching it, I just know already that stuff could happen where he just goes "ok now go here, and then here. Voila. End Credits! GG! :D"

well i guess you just dont want what the other people want. Many people (including me) like it because its been interesting games that not many people have played but has alot of interesting things in them. chrono trigger is a 16 year old game that ALOT of people have played and doesnt have that wierdness about it that makes funny and witty comenting. w/e it will blow over and the people that wants to watch it will.

This will only work if Ryan reads all the text in affected accents. Girl characters, boy characters, even Robo.

Cool! I dig Chrono Trigger. I'd rather Chrono Cross but hey, I'm in the minority on that.

Also I dig the Ryan / Patrick thing. It'll be cool.

I really liked the QL of Dark Souls. Rorie, Brad and Vinny Dark Souls ER. That would be rad.

I dunno... the game is fantastic, but it doens't have enough of a WTF-factor like the previous 2 ER games for it to be really enjoyable... but we'll see.

@Carlos1408: Not a lot. Jeff has done some question answering things from his own home, and Vinny has been fixing up his Joust arcade cabinet.

Considering that's only like 15 years ago for him I imagine he will remember it, whenever I play back through games from my childhood I am always surprised just how much I remember.

Dude totes. But I re-played it recently and the story is BANANAS. Hearing Ryan and Patrick try to suss it out wouldn't be that cool. But it DOES have a super hard boss battle - fuck Dario,

I'll probably watch it, but I was hoping for some modern niche game. Kinda hoping for Dark Souls actually.

I guess we'll see how it goes, but I'm not immediately excited. I thought Vinny and Jeff were the best duo, because they were funny but also seemed to care very much about the story and characters they invested in. While I like Ryan's humor (Vinny and Ryan Quick looks are the best), I don't think he can show emotion when it comes to the story and characters of a videogame, which I think was an amazing part of the Persona 4 ER, as Jeff and Vinny thought hard about the decisions they made within the story and how it would affect the characters.

Also, that game is straight up 100% text with no voice acting, and I don't know if that can be interesting to watch for such a long period
