What arcade game is this?

It's one of my favorite video game memories and I need more info.

Details I remember:

• I played it at an arcade in 1992 at “AmeriFlora '92” in Columbus, Ohio.

• It was a cockpit cabinet.

• I controlled a shooting car.

• It was in third-person view.

• At the end of each level I had to choose the next stage by going left or right.

• I played the game for an embarrassingly long time before I realized that my car could fly.

• I beat the game and felt like a god. I didn't know arcades had difficulty settings.

@mbannick: I looked at images. I do not think that is it. In my memory, the car is smaller and the color tone is darker.

@floydeo: I'm sure that's it! Thank you. You have no idea how long that's been in my head.

My memory of it differed slightly, better graphics in my memory. I know that level selected branching tunnel is clear as day. Even pictures of the cabinet seem right.

I thought I would have to get hypnosis. Joke. Thanks again.
