For me it would be Bayonetta. I just could not get into and I love Devil May Cry
What do you think is the most overrated game?

No. Please. Anything but this thread. It just leads to flame wars and a load of people getting pissed off.
And the word 'overrated' is over used. Its just a word used to say a game sucks but while mincing around to avoid direct confrontation. In other words, its a word for pussies.
I humbly request the mods for a lock.
I'd have to say Red Dead Redemption. I couldn't get into that game at all. :/ But that has to do with the enormous expectations I had for the game, thanks to the reviews and people talking about it.

It logically shouldn't, and I believe the best example is FF7, a massively overrated game that's actually still really good.
This thread is destined to end really badly.
I would say Halo 3 though, i did play it for the first time like, last year though - so maybe the polish wasnt there for me at that point!

"Yep, it's pretty much a seemingly less dickish way of saying "everyone else is wrong and my opinion is right."
I believe that we can all agree Killzone hold s this title: They even displayed a misrepresentation of the "gameplay" in debut trailers.
Incidentally: I must say that I have less of an aversion for a forum thread "ending badly", than for people whom only "contribute" by complaining about the direction of said thread.
Halo. The whole series. I dont know why its so popular. The enemies and stuff just look silly to me.
S'funny how these threads always end up as a list of all the best games out there.
I think the rule for these types of threads should be:
1. Let them run their course
2. Lock them
3. Rename them "Great Games You Might Want to Check Out"
For me it was Uncharted 2, there was something about the gameplay that wasn't striking a chord with me, I thought the cover system was a little wonky and some of the platforming was hit or miss. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a solid game with an awesome story and singe player campaign, I just don't think it was as good as most people say it is.

I definitely do like the game and had people saying to me that it's definitely game of the year material, etc, etc. But I honestly didn't feel it, it was fun, looked good and everything but I guess it didn't hit me as well as it did with other people.
Noughts and crosses.
No depth, little replayability when you realise the tactics and little level variety. Yet its still constantly played by everyone. Utter shame.
Halo 3, MW2 and Killzone both massively hyped both pretty meh.
Games that aren't hyped enough Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles.

" world of warcraft. fun for a month, then there was less and less new stuff and more grinding. gave up about 3 months in once i hit 40 and realized it was all a grind and i would probably be having more fun on an assembly line "you gave up at 40?! trust me it gets better once you get to end game.

"I'd say the first Halo probably didn't deserve the success that it did, but it was a decent game. It was baffling to me that the game was getting 10s across the board everywhere. This was actually the beginning of the TOTAL GLOBAL PERFECT SCORE SATURATION. This doesn't mean that it wasn't a pretty decent game. There was definitely some fun to be had.
The next two were definitely over-rated. There was no reason to give those games above a 7 at best, much less perfect 10s, everywhere.
" @captjim said:then the game's a failure in my eyes. if i pay full price for a game, then pay additionally every goddamned month to play it, then it had better be fun from the get-go. i shouldn't have to slog through 60 (or 70 or 80 or whatever the level cap is now...i was playing the game at launch so i don't know) levels to get through the chores and finally get to the fun part. the whole game should be the fun part. i don't want to pay to do chores and grumble for months about how it has to get better soon." world of warcraft. fun for a month, then there was less and less new stuff and more grinding. gave up about 3 months in once i hit 40 and realized it was all a grind and i would probably be having more fun on an assembly line "you gave up at 40?! trust me it gets better once you get to end game.
