I have just over 5 dollars burning a hole in my Google Play Rewards wallet. I was wondering what mobile games you all have been into lately? Have there been any frequently mentioned on the site that are slipping my mind? Should I just pour my real life dollars into Wiz Khalifa's weed farm?

Anyways, the question is what it is: What mobile games are you playing right now, and what would you suggest?

Just for the sake of contributing, if you don't own the game "Threes" yet you should. You really should.

After seeing Danny O’Dwyer post a clip of it, I got Trick Shot, fun wee physics game. 100 holes in it, so not massive, but if you try to get a Perfect on each hole, it’s going to keep you occupied for a good bit.

After seeing someone on here make a comment about a Picross style game, I got Logic Pic last night. Never played a picross style game before so really enjoying the puzzles. But it’s F2P, and the constant 30s ads after each puzzle are starting to annoy. I was going to buy it, but it’s a subscription based purchase, £4.99 a month until cancelled, so that’s put me off ever giving them money.

But quite enjoyable otherwise

Right now, I'm liking Opus. It's a top down post-apocalyptic supernatural adventure game of sorts. There are a lot of fascinating ideas behind it, so I don't want to spoil too much here, but it's one of the more interesting iOS narratives since 80 Days.

@sparky_buzzsaw: I played Opus, as well. Liked it. Surprising indie game from China. Short and sweet.

If you like shoot-em-ups and danmaku games like me, I'm a big fan of Danmaku Unlimited 3, and Bullet Hell Monday (which is free, and the ads are tucked away).

Monument Valley is beautiful, but not long. I prefer Monument Valley 1 over 2, but either one is stunning.

Square Enix is on a tear with the GO games. If you have an appreciation for turn-based puzzles any of them are excellent, but Hitman GO was my first love. Tomb Raider GO is a good follow-up but doesn't deviate too much, but Deus Ex GO is the most ambitious. As of writing this, they're on sale on Google Play for 99 cents each.

Linelight is a recent favorite with music and presentation that is close to my heart. You're guiding a small line of light across separate worlds, each a web of interconnected sequence puzzles, and it even has "secret" sections like a Metroid game. Also 99 cents, right now.

If you haven't tried Ridiculous Fishing, it's absurdist fun by our good friends at Vlambeer. Unfortunately, it's $2.50 right now.

If you like narrative subversion, I recommend Amir Rajan's A Dark Room. The less I say about it, the better. It's also 99 cents, right now.

Been playing a lot of Type Shift. It’s a take on crossword puzzle style games. The clue puzzles are generally pretty good, I’ve ended up buying several additional packs.

It’s over your budget, but The Witness is available for tablets and smartphones now. I didn’t get to play it on PC so I can’t compare, but looks great and plays well on iPhone.

Love Nikki Dress Up Queen because the Giant Bomb community continues to be a bad influence on me. But hey, free is still free.

As for recommendations, some of these might be a bit older (and I can’t really vouch for if they are on Android) but; SPL-T, Downwell, Neon Drive, PinOut and Reigns are all fun short session titles that that survived my latest phone cleanup. I should look into if there are any new games out worth trying. Been a while since I explored mobile gaming.

I like playing online poker on DrueckGlueck casino. I am not a good player but I will improve my skills. I want to become a professional one day and earn millions. If you are interested you could check here other games. Baccarat, Punto Banco, Pie Goe are also very involving.

Rebuild 3 is dramatically addictive, and can be a challenge at times. Don't let the "post-zombie" setting alarm you, it's actually good.

i ve just started playing titanfall assault after recently moving house and not having my pc setup yet, and was hankering for a game to play.

its a typical mobile game structure with login boxes and the like, but does a good job of replicating titanfall but at the perspective of a general watching his or her troops on the battlefield. it plays like a checkpoint control point, which you gather points as you control and hold checkpoints. you can also win by destroying the opponents base turret.

you have cards for pilots, titans and burn cards for support (i.e. squads or mines etc). you dont have direct control over the units, but you order when to call them in and where they head providing you have the right amount of resource.

im enjoying it a lot, and its free

I played Mobile Legends with my friends like you, including other MOBA games such as Dota and League of Legends. Though if you like League of Legends, there's also a Mobile version that you can find and download on the Google Playstore.

Opus, is a great game, that said I think I like a bunch of these games on the list, and should check these out...
As for me, the stuff I play on android, are mostly just some hypercasual puzzlers stuff or variations of the open source Pixel Dungeon games.

The only two I'd play are Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, albeit their PC versions since my phone is not a flagship.

Still snailing my way through Genshin Impact over here, currently at "Prologue Chapter 2" and have not spent one cent. This kind of "mayhems with movies played in-between" experience really ain't for phones.

The only mobile game I regularly give a spin (Ha!) on my phone is Super Hexagon. It's just such a well-made, perfect piece of minimalist game design.

I tried playing Downwell on phone for a while, but it didn't work out for me. I like a rather small smartphone, so it's kinda hard to navigate the game without my thumbs getting in the way of actually seeing enemies appearing from below. It's probably a banger on tablet with enough real estate for controls; I play it on PC instead.

Been playing too much Rocket League Sideswipe in my spare time. Also, Jan put me on Poinpy (same creator as Downwell) which is only accessible through the Netflix app.

I've been playing a lot of TypeShift. The clue puzzles are drawing me into the incomprehensible world of cryptic crosswords.

I second Poinpy, though it's been a few months since I finished it. Yes, it has an ending... and it's one of the craziest I've seen recently. Worth sticking to if you have Netflix!
