For me it was a Game Boy Color, that was an amazing system at the time (to me at least).
What was your first video game system?
My mom had an NES before I was born. Christmas when I was 3 I received my Sega Genesis. I had that until about 1997.
Already a thread on this (which is mine rather coincedentally).
For the record, Commodore 64.

" @Emandudeguyperson said:Yours was "The oldest console you've ever played," my thread is "What was the first video game system you owned." What I'm saying is, for example somebody's first console could have been the PS2, but then they went and bought a Dreamcast, in your thread, they would say the Dreamcast, but in my thread they would say PS2." @eroticfishcake said:How so? " @eroticfishcake said:Actually mine is the oldest and first console that you've played or owned before. So that actually encompasses this thread to some degree. No biggie though. It's a pretty old thread anyway." @Emandudeguyperson said:Yours was "The oldest console you've ever played," my thread is "What was the first video game system you owned." My dad had a couple of Ataris, Commodores and so on, when I came to be in early '87 - but in '92 I bought my own NES...
What a great console *reminiscesses... reminiscesses.... remines...*
" Make A Fucking Pole If You Ask A Question With A Limited Number Of Responses. SNES. "Fireman's pole? Pole dancing pole? Light pole?
Considering the number of possibilities you'd have had at least 30 choices on a poll it you wanted it to be complete.
For me, Pong.
The Ol NES, I remember having to go to Florida one year and being only around 7 and being totally hooked on my NES I remember not wanting to leave it home for the whole week. Of course I was told to leave it because my cousin has video games, next thing I knew I was sitting in front of a Atari 2600 and hating it!! I remember none of the games coming close to giving me any enjoyment.... It was hell for the whole week... Damn video game addiction! Not even Mickey could make me happy that week.
Mine was an NES

My dad got two Nintendo Entertainment System from one of his co-workers. But this was in 1996 right around the time the N64 came out. I bought the N64 a couple months later and a PS1 after that.
My older brother's NES, then a SNES, then a N64, then PS1, then Dreamcast, then Gamecube, then PS2, and now I have a 360 and a gaming PC. My brother has a Wii I occasionally play. I want a PS3 badly :(.
Same here, although I think mine was a Super Pong. So there is another choice to add to the "pole"." @MAN_FLANNEL said:

NES. We got it for Christmas when I was like 4? It was a gift for the whole family, though, so my brothers got the most ouf ot it. I did play it, though, but man, never had much luck with Zelda.
The Nintendo Entertainment System.
Although I didn't actually get into gaming all the way up until the first Xbox.

It's funny a lot of people say this, but I really liked Super Mario 2. I'm not sure how I'd rank them, but I'd have a hard time calling Super Mario 2 bad or the worst. Dunno, I'm probably in the minority though. Sorry for the interruption. Back to your regularly scheduled thread..." @funkyblam said:
