What's with all the complaining???
I am tired of people writing blogs complaining about Giant Bomb in some way or another. 5 Minutes ago I read a blog some jerk wrote saying that Ryan Davis' reviews were band and that it was "Bad Journalism". He claimed to be a journalist himself but thats not the point; If people have a problem with the site then why do they bother wasting their time on this website, on these forums, complaining about it when there are other gaming sites they can take their issues elsewhere?
" @Weltal said:What about clogged tubes?" It's the internet. "The answer to all of the internets problems. "
The answer is simple (or complicated, whatever). An internet community is set up of a diversity of people. Different socio-economic strata, nationality, language, cultural background in general. Sure there is a skew, since we're all interested in games, so there has to be some similarity in how we live our lives. But people are used to move, in their free time especially, in circles which share their own norms. A Forum or a community or even the internet will establish its own norms, but there are still lots of spaces of action which are not covered by those new norms. So there, everyone just acts like he (she) is used to. Everyone here is faceless, so you treat everyone in a generalized way according to your beliefs. And well, some people seem to believe they are entitled to a certain quality standard (they decree), on the free services they use on the interwebs.
It's an open forum. Criticism is to be expected. Instead of complaining about the criticism, respond to it.
I like Mono_Listo's response. I am entitled to complain, as long as I give constructive criticism and not just you suck because you are bad. If people never complained about cars going 10 miles an hour in 1908 or if people never expected more, we would still have that same useless shit. Start expecting more or you will never get it.
