Which ps1 game should I get?
I guess I shouldn't have made this into a poll. I was just wondering between these two games which one is worth getting. I've never played many JRPGS, but I hear Resident Evil 2 is short and not worth it. If you put other, tell me which game is better. Just not castlevania.
Sure FF VII is longer than RE2, but re2 is not short. I voted FF VII." I guess I shouldn't have made this into a poll. I was just wondering between these two games which one is worth getting. " Vagrant Story is better than FF7, imo. "I just thought you should know that that's not opinion. That is 100% fact.
I agree with this man wholeheartedly: purchase Vagrant Story.

Also: Parasite Eve, Valkyrie Profile
Castlevania Symphony of the Night, assuming you haven't played it on the 360/PS3 already and are able to find it for a decent price. I'd also check out FF Tactics and Vagrant Story. MGS, RE2, and FF7 IMO haven't aged well. They are nice collectors items; however, you may not enjoy them unless you have some nostalgia.
FFtactics, MGS, and FFVIII. I agree FFVII hasn't aged well either. Its either a history lesson or nostalgia.
" Abe's Odyssey. would recommend to anybody, especially those that loved Limbo. Just dusted off an old PS2 for the kids during summer holidays. That game has aged really well, still hard, but still great. "Hell yes. Those 2 Oddworld games are great.
Abe's Odyssey is sweet. Picked it up on steam recently and still had a good time." Abe's Odyssey. would recommend to anybody, especially those that loved Limbo. Just dusted off an old PS2 for the kids during summer holidays. That game has aged really well, still hard, but still great. "
And I'm glad people support my Vagrant Story pick. It can be a pretty tough game and it gets deep with item management, but I beat it 9 times, maxed out everything, and got all the rare items so yeah (and I'm not a big RPG guy). Back when I was reading previews before release, people were freaking out by the graphics and how the cutscenes were at a Metal Gear Solid level. Gotta agree there. This trailer brought back so many memories, I gotta play it again:
Valkyrie Profile was fun, but I thought the PS2 sequel really improved the combat by moving it into 3D.

It's pretty good, for sure. I finally beat it at the dawn of this generation and I still had its excellent moments." All the FF7 hate is just bloody annoying, it's an excellent game and you will not regret a playthrough! "
" And Chrono Cross is quite a good JRPG. "Wholeheartedly agree with this, but he's asking about games you can get on PSN and this is not one of those.
" @csl316 said:Oh man, I completely missed that part. Too bad the PSN selection is depressingly limited (in NA, anyway)." And Chrono Cross is quite a good JRPG. "Wholeheartedly agree with this, but he's asking about games you can get on PSN and this is not one of those. "
" Soul Reaver "Oh god yes.
I'd go with RE2, but to be fair I could never really get into VII.
Not that that should take anything away from RE2. It's an amazing game.
So uh, yeah. RE2.
FINAL FANTASY 9! I really, really loved that game. I'm not sure why, but it has stayed in my mind for my entire gaming life.
I have a copy of Tactics for PSP, but I'm too intimidated to play it, lol." Thanks guys, guess I'll check out Vagrent Story and Tactics then. "
Fun Fact: Both of these games take place in Ivalice, along with Final Fantasy XII. Which is awesome.
And this thread got me the Popularity Contest quest, woot!
Final Fantasy VIII is probably my favorite FF game (which isn't saying much, since I'm not a huge FF fan.).
Metal Gear Solid is a good game too, and I tried out Grandia but I didn't really get into it much. I should try it again sometime.
I'd say Metal Gear Solid. I remember Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf being good but there are a lot of other games that are worth your time, basically all the ones mentioned so far. Apart from Blasto, I've never heard of that :P
But I just liked the premise of Sheep, Dog n Wolf (or Sheep Raider in North America) Although its kinda aimed at kids its still awesome. it's probably just nostalgia on my part, though.
" I got RE 2 and loved every minute of it. Got some good replay value also "Ofcourse you would.
