Wow, I guess you've never been on a game forum in your entire life then have you?

Jesus, the nerve.

And I'm not defending Nintendo, they've got to do some things to make themselves better I agree. But saying this is "The last straw" and preaching to us about how fantastic the X360 is comes off as a bit, dare I say it...fanboyish?

Excuse me..

Which company owns the best game of this generation ?

The wii

If you wondering which game im talking about, look below.

SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL

Plus
The wii is absolutely amazing.
Its diifirent than the xbox360 and PS3.
The Wii is unique and not common like PS3 and 360 with a consent battle with each other.

You oviosly only play games that are with Blood,Guns,War ect ect.
The wii is much more fun the 360 and PS3

With the Wii you get FAMILY FUN

Xbox & Playstation is for people who have not life and are on it consently. Not socialising with the other family members.

And i do own a 360 myself but i dont play it much. The only game i play on it is Guitar Hero.

So Nintendo will not die, It produces fantastic games such as Super mario Galaxy, Super mash bros brawl.

Proven and Just whipped you ass :)
Will

The writing isn't great, but it's still quite a lot better than the TC's. If "BestUsernameEver" writes like a 7 year old then TC writes like a fetus.

Look, if you don't like Nintendo and its casual-heavy library, don't play them and forget about it.  There are still a multitude of hardcore games out there and I don't see there being a slowdown anytime soon.

Nintendo has a purpose this generation and that's to bring in those new gamers.  Not everyone wants to play Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War... there are people out there who prefer Wii Sports over those.

Nintendo reached it's last straw at E3. Well, It really didn't for me (I hated them before that).

I think that is one of the most ignorant things a video game fan can say. Without Nintendo's jumps and leaps into uncharted territory you wouldn't be playing half the shit you play on Xbox.

Not to get too off-topic but I do have plenty of reason to hate nintendo that has nothing to do with videogames.  Try being a Mariners fan for a couple of days and you will understand.  That team is run in the same fasion, ya they make a ton of money and are able to draw in all of the Soccer Moms, but the team SUCKS BALLS!  ya that's great that they can still make a profit but the product they are putting out there is complete and utter shit.

The guy from nintendo that owns a team has never even been to a game and it shows, Im guessing he doesnt play much wii either but as long as he makes money he is happy.  seriously Im sick of how shitty this baseball team is.

The amount of sincere hate for Nintendo in this thread is incredible, like they came to your house a murdered your family in the night. Some of you have some serious problems and need to relax. If everyone keeps talking like this, the Wii will soon become the most underrated console.. that everyone owns.

I agree, I have both the Wii and the 360 and I rather enjoy both systems quite well.
I am disappointed in Nintendo after seeing their E3 conference, yes, but does that mean I hate the system? Nope.

I'm sorry, do you even have a Wii? All you posted was the obvious points in the fact that 360 is a far more powerful system than the Wii, followed by more obvious things everyone has talked about and seen already.

Want to know why Microsoft is 'simplifying' it's things as well?

It's to market to a wider audience. Businesses aren't here to just please your gaming experience. They're here to make money; and Nintendo's doing it, and Microsoft recognizes it, so they want to make more money too.

Stop acting like Microsoft is here only to cater to you, because the world doesn't revolve around you.

A guy with a green username doesn't like the Wii?

SAY IT ISN'T SO!

Your affiliation is with another console, so you have no reason to hate another console.

I find it hard to see why so many people can hate the fact that the wii has turned into a more casual focused system. You still will get the rehashed version of Nintendo's great franchises so what is the problem with there being a console in the market that has a purely casual focus. As technology evolves toys evolve too. With games like boom blox and wii sports the wii is just the new technology version of the toys you played with as a kid.

So you want the Wii to die because you hate it and hate the simplicity of its games? Seems like a messed up logic.

>Nintendo reached it's last straw at E3. Well, It really didn't for me (I hated them before that). But for a lot of people it had.

In order for something to reach it's "last straw," previous mistakes must have been made, and this must be the final one before whatever. So what were the Wii's mistakes? Who are all these people it was a last straw for? Sony and Microsoft fanboys waiting for the Wii to make a mistake at E3?
It seems as though E3 was disappointing all around for all systems in one way or another. But I'm sure all systems will have games people will want to play by Christmas.

[BestUsernameEver]
>I never had much hope for Nintendo to get it's acts together since I got the Xbox360 back in February.  Since then I now know what it means to play truely hardcore titles.

Well they're selling a lot of consoles and games. What does it take to "get their act together?" be a clone of Microsoft?

 [BestUsernameEver]
>But not only are they packed with story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics. (GTA IV, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Orange Box, all of which are >not on Wii.)

Every system has their own exclusives. The Wii games are fine for me in the story, etc. department.
See below

[BestUsernameEver]
  >But all of the titles on Xbox360 also have something called effort pack right in the box. Not that I am saying Nintendo doesn't put effort in there're gam-, oh, wait, they don't >anymore, do they? Well, Once every four years, they put there focus away from money (Zelda, Metroid, Mario....and other 20 year old sequels) but that is once every four years, three >if you are lucky. What I am saying is, Microsoft's system gets games every month (not every year) that have a good story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics, with also >a bonus, playability, and even replayability.

With all the Wii games previously mentioned, and the fact the Wii isn't four years old yet, disproves the "once every four years" hyperbole.

[BestUsernameEver]
>The designs are thought out and are not simplified. Nintendo simplifies everything so they can get a wider audience, thus brings in much more money.

Well, they're all in it to make money. If the games are fun, who cares. I don't think games have to be "hard core" to be valid. Plus the more that's put into graphics, the less can be put in elsewhere.

[BestUsernameEver]
 >But apparently Microsoft doesn't think like I do, because now they are trying to copy off of Nintendo, by SIMPLIFYING the dashboard, and getting the addition of Avatars (cough..Miis)

Well if Microsoft is copying Wii, then Wii must be doing something right, at least in Microsoft's eyes.

[BestUsernameEver]
 >I want Nintendo to stop trying to make everything for the casual gamers,

Again I don't see what's wrong with casual games or a system that only makes casual games (if that's what the Wii does). "Casual gamers" have a right to play games as much as hardcore gamers, which in your case seems to be people who play shooting and related games.

[BestUsernameEver]
>and start cracking out different ideas, not sequels.

let's list some of the games you mentioned:

GTAIV - just by the title alone, three have been made before
Call of Duty 4 - see above
Orange Box - A collection of Half-Life games

Every console seems to rely in part, on sequels. So what? What are new ideas? Shooting games?

[BestUsernameEver]
>Microsoft also better not begin down the Wii trajectory, because America has gotten milked of all it's money and attention from the mainstream.

Well America isn't broke, and I'm not sure how much attention it gets from the mainstream.

[Azteris]
>All you just proved was your one sided console attracts 7 year olds and people who write like 7 year olds.

How did that poster do that? When arguing, avoid Ad hominem arguments

[Azertis]
>I'm not going to baby someone who obviously doesn't think before they talk. Or in this case, type.

Nobodies asking anyone to be babied. Being trollish isn't the way to go either. Also see above.

[Azertis]
I just don't get how you can see what I see and come to such ass backwards conclusions is my problem.

Just because someone else's opinion isn't yours, doesn't make it ass backwards.

[Chazer127]
>It's not like anyone is forcing you to play the games now is it? don't like them? DON'T PLAY THEM, nuff said
[Finch]
>I hate this argument. Hey everybody, don't bother expressing your opinion on something, just neglect it.

Well this is a forum, where things are debated and not a place to vent your hatred. I don't really want a place filled with [Insert hated console here] sux!  There's really no debate and there just comes a point you just have to say things "well if you don't like it..." I don't think Chazer127 is telling people not to express their own opinions,  just the best solution is you hate the Wii, so don't play it. Is there any realistic argument to try and convince BestUsernameEver to get him to change his mind? I seriously doubt it.

Wii isnt and was never intended to be a stand alone console for hardcore gamers. It was meant for the casual audience and something for hardcore gamers to play on the side.

Except No More Heroes sold pretty well according to the publisher and Zack and Wiki did pretty damn good as it sold half a million copies in 6 months (not long after being released in Europe).

That point is pretty moot since there is no platform out there that can be "stand alone" for any hardcore gamer.

I don't play a game because it is "casual", nor do I get a game because it is "hardcore".  I play a game because it is "fun", and the Wii has plenty of games that are entertaining and "fun", so I have no reason to get rid of my Wii.

I was disappointed in nintendo's E3, too, but I am still positive there will be other games I will want on the Wii, so again, I will absolutely keep my nintendo Wii.

actually this is a good point as i did the same thing with the gamecube, actually i think i got it right when sunshine came out.  Anyways I missed the topic cause I was hating on Nintendo as a company for two things that have nothing to do with the wii.  still isnt my cup of tea though.

It has become a sad day when i look at the Wii more as a toy than a console.  I feel this is okay, as it is hitting its target of casual gamers, but i haven't touched the thing after a week of mario kart.  The wii just isn't made for the hardcore gamer that helped make nintendo what it is today.
Its not that nintendo doesn't have third party support, its just that the handful of good stuff (like no more heroes, and medol of honor heroes) is overshadowed by tons of crappy third party games (like deca sports).
I do feel that Sony and Microsoft are trying to acquire more casual gamers with stuff like lips, rock band, and buzz.  XBLA and PSN does a good feel of giving a everyone a taste of that casual fun, just as long as they keep pumping out great games like MGS 4, and Halo 3, they won't be in the same "boat" as nintendo

The Wii still has potential to please.

Devs just need to start using it right.

Don't substitute waggle for button mashing like some games tend to do.

Microsoft also better not begin down the Wii trajectory, because America has gotten milked of all it's money and attention from the mainstream.

I'm sorry but you are just an ignorant person. I socialize with my family and friends more than I play games and I play a lot of games on my Xbox 360. You know why people that own a Xbox 360 and/or Playstation 3 play it so much? Because they have amazing games. Yes Nintendo does make some very good games but have you noticed its all spin-offs and sequels to twenty year old franchises? Have noticed that all Zelda games except Majora's Mask are exactly the same? That doesn't stop them from being fun and great games though. Also Super Smash Bros Brawl is not the best game this generation it isn't even close to earn that title. Also I do have a life, its a very good one thank you.

"Nintendo reached it's last straw at E3. Well, It really didn't for me (I hated them before that). But for a lot of people it had. I never had much hope for Nintendo to get it's acts together since I got the Xbox360 back in February.  Since then I now know what it means to play truely hardcore titles. But not only are they packed with story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics. (GTA IV, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Orange Box, all of which are not on Wii.)
But all of the titles on Xbox360 also have something called effort pack right in the box. Not that I am saying Nintendo doesn't put effort in there're gam-, oh, wait, they don't anymore, do they? Well, Once every four years, they put there focus away from money (Zelda, Metroid, Mario....and other 20 year old sequels) but that is once every four years, three if you are lucky. What I am saying is, Microsoft's system gets games every month (not every year) that have a good story, action, depth, amazing graphics and mechanics, with also a bonus, playability, and even replayability.

this one speaks the truth. The fact that that guy had to cite 'family fun' as a reason to buy the Wii seriously makes me reconsider my willingness to buy it.

every console has a big following of fans that all think they are hardcore gamers,  and maybe they are right who ever said that just playing FPS or games like gears of war make you hardcore, i think your more of a hardcore player if you dont mind what game you play and put in the time and effort to play them regular.   you have got to realise that all the console companys cater for there own fanbase.    nintendo have always released games like these and they have the biggest back catalogue of characters that they could make fresh games with down the line, or maybe they wont.

just because someone dont like a console dont make it a bad  one,   if it doesnt have your types of games, dont hate on it, just dont buy it or read about it, its as simple as that, the gaming  industry would be a boring place if every console was the same and released the same games, thats why im glad ive got all 3, each for there own style of games that i enjoy.

The Wii has no chance of dying. Here's the simple explanation:

  • Wii is perfect for the mainstream person who enjoys games but doesn't necessarily need a huge library of blockbuster games.
  • Wii is a solid companion system - side console - as a sidekick of sorts for Xbox 360/PS3 owners for when friends come over and what to play a quick game of something simple, or Smash Bros, and then you get the occasional "hardcore" title to wet your appetite.

Can we now be civil?
