I'd be amazed if anyone actually said yes.
Would you not play a game because the main character is the opposite sex?
I don't know why anyone would consider this to be an issue. Do you really find it that hard to relate to the opposite sex?
This makes even less sense than the outcry on certain forums when we found out the main character in San Andreas was black.
@YI_Orange: When Final Fantasy XIII came out, more then a couple people told me they weren't getting it simply because the protaginist was a female.I know people like this. It's usually people who don't play alot of games. They assume things. It's not even young people. Some of my friends who are not gamers laughed at me for my purchase of Eternal Sonata because of the girl on the cover and the field of flowers
Where is, "it doesn't matter"?I picked b because it doesn't matter to me so I would play it.
D. It doesn't matter.
Depends. Look at Portal 2: it had a female protagonist and I loved it. Also, in RE5 I don't mind playing as the female character and would play through the whole game as her (wouldn't bother me). However, I hate games, like diablo, that choose a gender for you based on your class choice. For example, in Diablo, the hunter character is always female. Also, in Sacred 2, the hunter character is always female.
Now, I enjoy playing snipers in games, but I hate having my gender chosen for me in video games. If I want a male hunter, and the game does not allow it, I lose interest. Same goes for when I want a female warrior and there are only males available. It bugs the hell outta me!
No, because I'm not a fucking moron.
I think I should save this somewhere and just copy+paste it into every poll thread, it's almost always applicable to the topic at hand.
I said Depends on the Game cause I don't want to play a game where you play as a lady having sex with men.
I played lady Shepard in Mass Effect 1/2 . . . and dude Shepard. Dude Shepard wins, but lady Shepard is pretty damn good too. Also, many other games with women protagonists. Why anyone would care, I don't know.
I always make a lady character, so of course. I actually dislike games that only allow me to play males. No idea why, I just hate playing guys in games. I think it might be because they are always generic bald tough guy that has no personality.
Of course that doesn't matter, though I haven't played all that many games where the main character is a female. Honestly, I always avoided Tomb Raider because they made her so much of a sex symbol.
While I normally prefer to play as a male character, I am not put off by playing as a female lead once in a while.

In what game is that an issue? I'm not able to think of any game where the only character option is female and at some point she has sex with a male supporting character. That scenario could certainly happen in Mass Effect 2, but in that case it was the player's choice to be a woman. So what game actually does this?
BTW, i picked the option where I'd play the game because it doesn't matter to me.
I always create ladies in RPGs because they're more fun to play. Not playing a game because of sex, race or sexual orientation is juvenile and narrow minded. Not playing a game because it's a bad game or the game play isn't something that interests you should be the only criteria.

That's choice B.
If it did matter, you would pick either A or C, clearly.
