On a funnier side, my favorite terribly written quote is from Gears of War 2, after Marcus Fenix realizes (about two hours after I did, the moron) what is destroying the city: "IT'S A GIANT WORM!!!!!" and the look on his face is priceless.

The smell the ashes line from GMan in Half Life is the one line that has always stuck with me. I had never played the first Half Life and other than praise for the game didn't even know what the game was about or its atmosphere so hearing that line and exiting to see the people being herded like that was pretty cool.
