Since we have Giantbomb we, pretty much, don't need to look to many other source for our video game news related need, let alone Youtube.

So yea I was surfing Youtube the other day and found some people who were examining the X360S and it honestly made me laugh. It was extremely unprofessional and they basically all stated the obvious. I did enjoy a few of them though, particularly SoldierKnowsBest had a good video up. I was wondering if anyone else looks at these videos when considering a purchase or if you just use GiantBomb or other professional sources, or if you always go by instinct.

I watch unboxing vids sometimes to know what's in the box. Made some myself in the past in fact - other than the obvious, it's nice to know if something comes with.. say a month of Live Gold, or credit for something or other. General impressions are ok.

Giantbomb's strength is in the team and for me personally, their podcast. If you'd said the Bombcast satisfies any gaming podcast need then I'd be inclined to agree. But as a source of news Giantbomb isn't as up-to-the-minute as other sources, that while may sacrifice story integrity to get it out the door first, are still more suited for keeping on top of what's going on.

If you want the latest game videos in high definition, you might as well head to Gametrailers or Youtube, if you wanted to see E3 live this year you'd need to be going to GT or GS or similar. I enjoy listening to the Bombcast becase I like to hear the crew's take on what's been going on that week, honestly I don't come to Giantbomb for news, rather their features, interviews and reviews. If you want news you're better off going to Kotaku surely.

Other than the random review videos I stumble upon while doing research on a product, I do use 3dgameman.

3dgameman's PC case videos provide that extra something that pictures on newegg don't. I also like it due to the fact that he turns the case on, if it comes with fans, to show how quiet/loud it is.

Although, I have seen some piss poor pathetic video reviews on youtube that provide almost zero information.

youtube is full of crap. You just have to look at the gaming section, 4/5 videos are Machinima gameplays of MW2. It's fine that people want to watch it, but most of the time they have no effort.

Getting through the hordes of 11 year olds with iPhones that feel the need to tell you how good Doodle Jump is just isn't worth it to me.
