How Many Times Can Big Boss Fulton, Until Fultoning... Isn't Fultoning Anymore?

Does anyone have the answer?

I can't answer with any specifics, but I think, at one point, fultoning was indeed an enjoyable experience? After about 45 hrs in, I can't tell anymore.

I couldn't care less if I fulton one more person, mounted gun, or vehicle, etc...

For cryin' out loud, I don't care about FOB bases, how big Mother Base is, or how many elite soldiers I have. I JUST WANT THE STORY TO PROGRESS.

Well, enough chatter, if I ever am going to beat this game I better go infiltrate the same base, for the 5th time, to extract the next soldier/item/prisoner.

Maybe I'll really find out what Skullface is up to then.

There is one upside to the grind though, maybe I'll get a chance to hear Ocelot explain to me what a Tarragon plant is again!

This game is starting to put a bade taste in my mouth. Not just morning breath, but like, "I ate a skunk," bad.

Pretty sure you can just mainline story missions...and a handful of side ops that are in yellow unlock story missions when you're at an impasse. As for all the other stuff you said, you should probably just move on to something else, you sound very unhappy.

Fultoning is always fun. Is your post supposed to be free verse or something?

Sounds like a rant at something popular, when fultoning people and weapons has no progression on the story.

With that title I thought you were going in a much more interesting direction.

Isn't fultoning really just Big Boss straight up kidnapping people and using them as machocistic slave labour on his offshore dungeon?

@sasnake: No story progression, but it does have character power progression what with the researchable weapons and armor.

Regardless, it hasn't bothered me so far. Researching upgrades can make the process faster, or even get someone else to do it for you ;)

I was fully expecting to reach the point you're describing. But I just fultoned a tank that wildly tried to shoot me as it rocketed into the air and nope fultoning is still fun as hell.

You eventually get upgrades and options to HOW you fulton that give it a shot in the arm as far as how hilarious it is. That's all I'll say.

Well, mother base(outer heaven) is a major part of the entire series of metal gear's story but nothing in this game forces you to maintain mother base but up till a point. Just play the story missions and whatever mandatory side ops if you don't enjoy playing the game? I myself have got so caught up in fultoning everything , leveling my combat crew, and upgrading motherbase i've spent maybe 70hrs and am only on like episode 23 lol

Then don't Fulton them and extract them by carrying them to the helicopter.

I'm fairly certain that in MGS5 the whole working for Big Boss thing is a bit more voluntary than it is in Peace Walker.
One of the tapes is all about how BB is idolized the world over because of his old members travelling far and wide and spreading the stories about him after what happened at Mother Base.
They still shoot you because they don't believe that you've come back to life or something.

I thought this thread would be about changing the name of the Fulton Recovery System to the Big Boss Recovery System.

I am 70+ hours in and fultoning everything is still a lot of fun.

When I realized the next MGS was going to be an open-world grind fest I elected to watch someone else play it or watch a super-cut of the cutscenes instead of playing it myself. Looks like you should've made the same decision.

Doesnt sound like the overall gameplay loop is clicking with you, you probably should just move onto something else then, game does take a while for the story hooks to really happen.

Fultoning is still fun for me and also very useful for removing stunned enemies from the world on a no kill run, the gameplay feel, and the gameplay loop has still been satisfying for me to stick with the game even as the story is thin in this game.

@adequatelyprepared: And a lot of soldiers know of Big Boss, but have no idea what he looks like.

Only when you manage to outsmart them and bring them to your base, they understand that Snake is actually the Big Boss from the stories.

I fulton everyone and everything. Even if it puts me in negative GMP. Also I'm so over capacity on soldiers it keeps kicking them out
