All of these are done on an old Pentax with y'know proper film and that, that I developed and everything... These are probably the only pictures I have ever liked and the more I look at them now the more I hate them.
I think I just got bored of taking straight photos and just went to digitally manipulating them using photoshop... I should really start doing some more.
i have my own photostream on flickr
LINKORZ the quality seems much better on there
I took this picture of my frog while he meditated. I still need to get a poster printed of it sometime. Best picture I've ever taken:
" "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! That is the most surreal photo I've seen in quite a while. What kind of tampering did you do with it?
" @DanielJW said:Hmm, so thats a good starting point? I would've thought cheaper, but I'm not really up on camera prices. I see a lot for around $150, are those junk?Right now I'm holding holding on to a couple hundred. "A decent DSLR kit like the Nikon D40 or D3000 and an 18-55mm lens is going to run you around $500. "
While I was still in my high school photo class, I tried out one of the two LOMO LC-A film cameras in school. Got entered into California State Fair. That very darkened part in the left might have been my arms and the camera. Even in B&W, LOMO shots have a really cool raw like detail when developed.
" @DanielJW: It depends on the type of photography you want to do, really. Check out this article. "I read through that, and decided point and click is probably better for me. I found the top ten point and click cameras article and took a liking to this.
Any opinions on that one? I'm thinking about grabbing it used for the $159.

So thats a link to one of my albums on fbook. I have a few friends around that take some great pictures, so I take'em and play around with them for a couple minutes, then throw'em up on two big screens at my church. Hence the logo in the pictures. I feel like I don't do justice to the majority of the originals, but they all end up liking them after seeing the final result.
Hey man I have the same setup as you. "Nikon D60 with 18-55mm VR lens and a 55-200mm VR lens " I got it pretty recently, love it.
" @MB said:If you're going to go for a super zoom or a point and shoot, get a recent model. That one is like three years old. The new Canon super zooms are pretty incredible and have some amazing macro capabilities as well. They also have an advanced image stabilization that will help you take better pictures. They're $400 though...if you're going to spend that much just get a DSLR." @DanielJW: It depends on the type of photography you want to do, really. Check out this article. dang man, i don't even know why i'm posting on this thread after seeing all the professional looking pics. damn, so good. so professional looking.
also, props to all the cell phone camera users. i know a guy who takes these amazing pictures and i'm thinking, dude how does he do all this w/ a cell phone camera. and i think there was this yahoo article saying iphone became the no.1 camera on the site.
my hardware: consumer grade, point and click canon SD850IS. use photoshop to do basic redeye removal and stuff. yeah, i'm not a photographer. just someone that enjoys taking pictures.
here are some of my favorite pics from 2008. pics been downgraded for net speed purposes.
Some of LA's beautiful people enjoying red Solo cups of alcohol at a free Tokyo Police Club show in Hammer Museum.
another picture of a guy and girl?!? Hey, I want to direct a future Death Cab for Cutie video ok. Sheesh. Also, not a fan of Tokyo Police Club. There I said it.
i like to take people safari pictures; people in their natural motion/environment. but basically, if photography ain't fun for oneself, why do it?
would like a SLR but expensive and most concert gigs won't allow cameras with removable lens inside unless you have like a press pass or something.
i do want to take a photography class at the local community college and would recommend it to everyone else. it would be fun whilst learning the fundamentals. and hey women take those class too you know.
blond ladies with big cameras get me excited. really excited. Band of Skulls @ Hammer 2k9
Can't believe I haven't noticed this thread before. I'm really into photography but haven't shot much recently which is a shame. I don't have a lot on this hard drive because it's new, but here's one I really like from flickr
Does anybody still use the old 35mms? They're a lot harder to use but I like them much more than the newer point and click stuff. They don't think they know what you want to shoot and have in/out of focus. Also developing the film and prints gives you a lot of leeway with how it comes out in the end.
