Well now that you put it that way I totally agree! Sorry for not being a heartless bastard earlier. Sympathy is overrated amirite?@Loose said:
Someone lost their life to a drug addiction. That's pretty tragic. It was also a person who made one of the best/most acclaimed R&B records in decades and I happen to like good music, so I, personally, am pretty bummed about it.Someone dying because of a weakness isn't tragic, it's Darwinism.

She was very talented, but her demons just caught up with her. I think she was one of the those celebrities that needed to leave the life for a long stretch, or maybe forever. The music industry is probably not the best place to be if you want to get clean.

No, it means you're trying to be hardcore and stuff when you're a fucking Panda. You know, you sneeze and people think it's cute but the fact is your whole race is dying out and nobody really cares.
Wait, what do you suggest? Dumping this into some other thread of celebrity deaths I'm not aware of? I mean, it's pretty darn specific. I get how you can lack interest, but if it's going to be discussed, it certainly warrants an off topic thread, doesn't it?Seriously though, does this deserve a thread of it's own?

Ah the good ole' internet. Where people make slights at others deaths that really shows how shallow and heartless they really are.
It's never a good thing when someone dies, but when a celebrity dies I will agree that they should not be commercialized to seem as if they were more important that anyone else's life. I hate everything that Lady Gaga is, but if she died, it would still be just as much a tragedy as any.
I am a very passionate person and feel for peoples pain but i can't feel sorry for someone like this, my heart goes out to all the family's who lost children and relatives over the horrible massacre and bombing, not over a drug addict who threw her life away and was a horrible influence on the youth and never really contributed anything with her celeb status other then to be a horrible influence.
Sucks for her family members and loved ones but im not gonna sit here and act surprised or feel sorry for her, my feelings and prayers are going to people who deserve it.
As a fan of her music, Im quite bummed by this news. My thoughts go to her family and friends.
27 is too young, no matter the cause.

Awww, panda bears! :3
People bringing up Norway in this thread are fucking idiots plain and simple. Obviously Norway is a bigger tragedy but it has nothing to do with this. Alps it is possible to give a fuck about 2 things at the same time.
Just goes to show if you go around drinkin' heroin and snorting booze it will catch up to you eventually.
Hugs not drugs people
It's painfully sad when someone so young passes away like this. I hope others will learn from her example and avoid a self-destructive lifestyle. There's nothing glamorous about dying at 27.

But they kinda are. We turn to music in times of joy and sadness so it makes sense that musicians would have a bigger role in someones life than, say, the women who lives five miles from you.
There's a lot of Arschlöcher in this thread.
Even though I've barely even listened to her music it saddens me to see someone go so young.
i would feel sorry for her, but i can't. for you see, my sympathy is a precious, finite resource that must be carefully rationed lest it be wasted on some druggie scum instead of those more deserving (such as Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII, RIP) . once it's gone, it's gone, ya know.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that when you do cocaine and drink, you die. I find it very difficult to have any sympathy, honestly.
Also, "junked up whore"? I'm sorry, but you're just a fucking awful person.I feel sorry for the girl and all but he isn't really wrong in describing her as such.
I had no real attachment to the singer, I just started the thread as news. Found myself skipping to the end after reading the first 5 pages of replies though. Don't know why I am surprised but God damn internet forums really are filled with dicks. Not news and I shouldn't really have expected GB community to be more caring or at least tactful than say TMZ or 4chan but really, some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
