Arch Enemy. I'm not a fan of them (nothing against them, just never listened to them) but many of my friends are and that bitch can sing metal right up there with any guy.

They are pretty good too, but I wasnt very into their last album. I liked Karen O's music for Where the wild things are. She and Carter Burwell work well together.

My group's singer in Rock Band would rather shoot someone than sing Maps.

And that's what made the album "Live Through This" so brilliant, at that point she actually had an outlet for her madness instead of what she's doing now.  Seriously, doesn't matter what kind of self serving whore people think that Courtney has become, "Violet" is as vicious as anything I've ever heard.  I'll agree that Hole, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Garbage should be on the list, and I'll add that Sleater-Kinney could use a bit of a bump up the numbers.   (BTW, if you like The YYYs, check out Slaughterhouse's "The One".  Karen O needs to be doing the backing vocals for more rap songs.)

@Solarus: Indeed the band itself is very musically talented. But I find the classic pre-Gossow music (with the exception of Wages of Sin) to be the golden era . Lately most of their stuff sounds lazy and the same.

I did like the Root of all Evil the most. I can't understand why she didn't do Diva Satanica in first person.

@AjayRaz: The worst part is that she sings like a male. One can't even use them in the whole 'i like a female singer' deal.

@FeatheredRainbows: You've got some classic '60s bands on there, but you foolishly missed the most important one of all:

Big Brother and the Holding Company!

Fronted by none other than the incomparable Janis Joplin.

Also, the band Epica is pretty amazing.
