"Without the Doors, you wouldn't have grunge music."No Nirvana? No Meat Puppets?

"Grunge was not influenced from Black Sabbath. If The Doors weren't there, I doubt it would mean grunge didn't exist. They'd have just got their influences from somewhere else. What's Fallout Shit?
That's an insult.
Btw, if you don't see the similarity between the Doors and Grunge, then you probably listen to Fallout Shit"
"Grunge was not influenced from Black Sabbath.Having grown up during the Grunge era...I can almost guarantee that I know a little bit about Grunge in general. By all means, if you wanna go back to all the 120 Minutes and Alternative Nation interviews with Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Meat Puppets, Pearl Jam, Seven Mary Three, Sponge, Stone Temple Pilots, and the likes...be my guest. Hell, I'm sure you could always hit Matt Pinfield up and he'll set your stupid ass straight on it as well. = D
That's an insult.

"Br3adfan said:How is that a way of looking at things in a 'far too linear way'? The Doors changed music during the 60s and to say that that had no influence on future bands to come then that it just ignorant. If you don't like a band whatever that is your opinion and you are welcome to it. But you need to respect what bands have done for music in general. For example I am not too big of a Led Zeppelin fan, but I can respect what they have done for rock music."HandsomeDead said:I doubt it. NOPE!!!
"Fallout Shit is what you listen too."Oh, you mean the 50's shit from the Fallout games? Yeah, I dabble.

For example I am not too big of a Led Zeppelin fan, but I can respect what they have done for rock music.Because if The Doors weren't there, someone else would have changed music during the 60s. Someone changes music every decade for better or worse. And I highly doubt that the pioneers of grunge look only to The Doors as their main influence. If you're going to be like that, you could say that grunge wouldn't have existed without the guy who invented the guitar. Odds are that the artists themselves and their lives, interests and the society they thrived in was what made grunge and we should be thanking them rather than thanking a band with no direct control on the situation.

I actually do not agree with the statement that the Doors influenced grunge particularly, if anyone had a hand in that it was Neil Young. However saying that the Doors had no impact on music is a lie. HandsomeDead said:

"Blink 182 formed Emo"How old are you?

"Dude I am trying to back you up here, but posting something like that is not helping your cause.Black Sabbath formed Metal
"
The Doors formed Grunge
The Beatles formed Rock
Blink 182 formed Emo
Ramones formed Punk
As much as I find Blink 182 lame and unoriginal, they did not invent the atrocious spread of emo
"Black Sabbath formed MetalThe Beatles formed Rock? REALLY?! Dood, LAWL!!! Chuck Berry invented Rock. Elvis invented Rock. The Beatles invented psychadelic rock MAYBE, and the fascination of teenie boppers!!!
The Doors formed Grunge
The Beatles formed Rock
Blink 182 formed Emo
Ramones formed Punk"
"You do know that the Beatles and the Stones were pretty much Chuck Berry cover bands right?Rock`N`Roll isn't Rock.
"
Chuck Berry may have been one of the founders of Rock`N`Roll
But the Beatles/Rolling Stones created Rock
At first I started posting to back a fellow Doors fan, but now I am thinking that your logic of music is very flawed
"The Doors were before Sabbath"Only thing you've said that is remotely right.
I thought that one of the band members said they were influenced by the Descendents and Screeching Weasels?
And FYI - Dashboard Confessional and Alkaline Trio are responsible for emo...not Blink182. Blink182 is simply a product of The Ramones and Green Day influence."
all i know is metal rocks .....
"Maybe today's pop-emo since they do follow pop-punk. But actual emo predates Blink's existenceIf you listen to Blink 182's early 90's songs, you will see the connection
"

Absurd...that was...well...absurd. I've never seen that before...and it was hilarious! Far better than The Doors.
