Rarely, if ever but there are certain favourites who I always support. Thet being said, while i've only bought one Fall Out Boy album, I feel like i've probably given Pete Wentz more simply through buying his clothes than I ever would with his music.
Do you pay for music?
Eh I generally download to find new artists, but generally don't buy and if I do I buy used off of Half.com. I would like to build up a CD collection tho.

I do not pay for the most part. I like a massive amount of artists and it'd cost me tens of thousands of dollars to get all the music I want. However some of my favorite artists I will go out on day one and buy an album. I don't like the notion most imply about me not supporting my favorite bands because I do not simply buy their music, truth is most of the money you throw down on a CD or MP3 the band will never see. I support them instead by being in line at all of their local concerts and buying merch at the tables they set up, that is where they see the support not in the checkout line at Best Buy or the "BUY SONG" button on iTunes.

Yes, I have a few albums that my cousin ripped from his collection for me, but most every song that I own myself has been bought either on Amazon or Beatport.
When i wanna hear what a band sounds like,or i like a song or two by them,Ill rip em.But usually end up buyin the whole cd.
I do, and I almost always know what I'm getting, or I just preview it, the Amazon mp3 store is pretty good, usually cheaper than itunes. Back a few years ago I used to NEVER pay for music, but I guess paying for music might be something that makes more sense as you get older.
I do it when I want to support my favorite bands. I've bought only two Metallica albums in my lifetime, though I've paid for concert tickets and bought 5 shirts, two posters, and three DVD's to date. I think that might even things out a bit.
I sample music plenty, but do so legally through places like Last.FM and Myspace. All the music I actually own was bought legally. I don't care for downloading music. And I say that being someone who probably buys a couple of CD's a week. My music is the only thing more important to me than games.
Always- I love my music and don't mind paying for it. If I can't afford it, I wait until I can. I'm also a member of Rhapsody.com, so I listen to damn near anything I want for free and if I want to hear it somewhere else I then buy it and transfer it to the iPod.
Depends.
Most of the time, I buy it.
Unless its one song I need and have decided I could do without the rest of the album.
" @HandsomeDead: Falloutboy? Respect points -50 "Agreed.
I rarely buy music, but if I have some spare cash and I'm in the town centre I'll probably buy an album or two.

Can't you music snobs leave handsomedead alone? For the record there is nothing wrong with liking fall out boy, intelligent lyrics and catchy music make them one of the best pop artists around these days so grow up.
Secondly there is no good reason for not paying for music. If you like the songs then paying for them is exactly what you should be doing. I don't care if they are signed upto to sony or any other major label, downloading music for free is shameful. Contrary to popular belief a lot of bands don't make much money at all and spend most of it on equipment and recording sessions.
Not really, because I strip away music files from games most of the time. I dunno if you can exactly call that legal, but the artists have already made their money on their licenses making the game, and I'm taking away stuff that I already own the license to listen to listen that stuff anyways, their just files on something I own,and nothing is exactly stopping me from the alternative which is using my 360 or PC as some horribly inefficient boom box to play music from my games. Also on the PC, it's basically right in front of your eyes.
If anything else though, I do buy music (rarely because I never find the need to) from artists that don't actively come from games I own.
