So me and most of my family and a few other people I know sleep with fans on us, though I'm aware that more than likely most people do not do this. I just have this insanely powerful metal fan that is next to my bed.

Going to bed in pure silence without a fan is a like a foreign language to me, I don't know how other people can do it. I like the sound and the... the blow (that's what she said) to it.

Do you sleep with a fan?

EDIT: Yeah, I use one year-around.

What type of fan? One that keeps you cool or one that keeps you warm in bed?

A fan? I guess if its mid-summer and its currently a heat wave then yeah. But not during winter, I'll freeze to death.

Its natural for you to be accustomed to a repetitive sound as you sleep. Think how you can fall asleep with constant noise outside. If it stops, then you can possibly wake up.

I thought you meant like, if you were a rockstar or something and you decided to sleep with one of your fans.

If it's like 12 degrees out, I have a fan on me. I'd much rather be cold then hot.

During the summer yes.  Even if I have the AC on I cannot sleep without a fan when it is hot out.

@SJSchmidt93: Well I honestly thought you meant a fan as in a person when I saw the title. And reading your comment only served to confuse me more. But if you meant one fan or the other type of fan, I would say no and no to both of them, unfortunately.

That just conjures up a weird image in my head.

I always sleep with a fan on, not for temperature purposes but as white noise.

When it's summer and really hot yes.
But not because of the silence that would be there without it, I listen to music for that, but just because I can't get any sleep if it's too hot.
Now that it's winter I just open my windows all the way up and let the cold air flow in through my windows.

"Insanely powerful metal fan" could imply someone who's both insanely strong and likes Metal music.

In my defence, it's half five in the morning here.

Yes, his name is Ted. The guy follows me everywhere, even into bed. He's creepy, especially since he insists on sleeping naked. Even creepier that me and the Queen share a bed.

I voted no as I have a balcony door that lets a lot of evening air pass through.  However, we have them for the kids rooms.  On a really hot day, it has been known to 35ºC upstairs in our house, and their bedrooms don't have as much ventilation.

I don't sleep in bed with my fan. Wouldn't want my bed to catch fire and die along with it.

I prefer not to. I will if it's really hot, but having a fan on tends to dry out my sinuses. I'd rather just turn on the A/C.

As for sleeping with noise - my computer is in my room and it's on all the time.

The thing to do is plant your bed between a balcony door and a window in a corner and you got a little cold front running right over you.

Now that I know what you're talking about, no, I don't sleep with a fan. Ireland's never that warm no matter what time of the year it's in.

During the summer months I do, especially if my dad is home.  He doesn't like to use the A/C(or just puts it on 78) and we live in Florida. :\

Exactly.  Here in Florida, we mostly only get hot.  That's why I love the Fall/Winter months because it gets cold enough to feel good but not too cold that it makes it uncomfotable.

Look. I can barley keep the temp above negatives after I shut down my computer. There is no way I'll be keeping a fan on.

I do have one on now though to get some air circulation going behind my desk.

What a question to ask during November, everything outside is white. If you had asked me a few months ago during a heatwave we had here I would have said yes though. But that was the warmest it had ever been here, at least since I was born.

Only during the summer: The fans I have whine a bit and are kinda noisy. I've woken up more than once in the middle of the night to move them out of my room.

Research has shown that sleeping with noise such as a fan makes and no lights improves your sleep.

Yeah, or else something wakes me up in the morning. It helps block out most other noises.
