So I've been wearing Contacts for the last 7 years, but not anymore. Yesterday I had Lasik Surgery and now I can see the world without sticking things in my eye's and it's awesome! So I was just wondering how everyone else saw things
BTW my prescription was -2.75.
Do you wear Contacts/Glasses?
" Don't wanna burst your bubble but my mom had lasik surgery a few years back and her vision is back to what it was before the surgery now =( "That's a problem with her then. Most people who have the surgery they're vision stays fine. Anyways the doctor I used has a 20/20 gaurentee, that if your vision gets worse for some reason he will "touch it up" for free.
I have no glasses or contacts, but I fear I will soon because my vision is getting increasingly worse every few months. And I am not that old; I am only in high school for godsakes.
" @Karmum: That's like my younger brother. I have 6 people in my family, and every single one of us has needed glasses or contacts, except for him. It's weird. "I have two older brothers who don't wear glasses or contacts. It isn't just me. It evens out three people to three people.
" @Nasar7 said:That doesn't burst my bubble; that's great for her. Why are you being confrontational?" Don't wanna burst your bubble but my mom had lasik surgery a few years back and her vision is back to what it was before the surgery now =( "sorry to burst your bubble my mom had lasik surgery 5 years ago and she still has perfect vision "
" @Nasar7 said:Good doctor. Actually, it's happened to a few people I know who've gotten it. Maybe I should've clarified that I hope it doesn't deteriorate for you but I thought that was understood." " @CL60 said:Because, just because it didn't work that well for your mom doesn't mean it won't for him. Sometimes it doesn't work, but the percentage is very low." @Nasar7 said:That doesn't burst my bubble; that's great for her. Why are you being confrontational?"" " @ArchScabby said:oh, well nevermind then." @Karmum: That's like my younger brother. I have 6 people in my family, and every single one of us has needed glasses or contacts, except for him. " I wear glasses. I've never understood contacts. Poking myself in the eye twice every morning isn't something that I'd want to do. "but is sticking something to your ears and nose so it stays on the front of your face any less weird when you really think about it?
Glasses since 5th grade. Never ever contacts, though. I just hate the idea of sticking something in my eye.
I use both contacts and glasses. I used to hate the idea of contacts since I could never actually poke my eye without blinking, but you really do get used to it. I had to develop my own trick to taking them out though, I just couldn't get used to the method they tried to teach me. Probably because it felt like my nails were dangerously close to my eye and one wrong move would make a small cut that would hurt like hell. xP
I'm hoping to eventually get lasik, but since I have contacts and my vision is (most likely) stable at this point I might not bother. It depends on how the price fluctuates and the risks involved. I'm sure that it's pretty safe now, but you never know- it could become even safer in a couple years.
I use glasses. Which i have used for about 4 years and I'm not one for contacts. Yeah glasses get in the way of a lot of things but they are easier to put on and clean.
I used to wear glasses but now I have contacts. My eyesight prescription is -1.50 and -1.75. Kinda bad, but not as bad as some other people. The farther it is from 0 the worse the eyesight is, right?
" It's sad to see 3/4 of the community wears glasses/contacts, I included... "It's just probably the people who wear glasses who are interested in clicking this thread.
I wear glasses that are about 1inch think. If I take them off, I can't see anything not even if it's a foot in front of me.
" @MattyFTM said:It's got nothing to do with weirdness, It's to do with not wanting to jab my finger into my eye." I wear glasses. I've never understood contacts. " @Death_Unicorn: I know if this is how many people need help seeing now is that what it was like before there were glasses? Was half the world just basically blind? "Not really, but the fact that human ingenuity has overcome natural selection means that every genetic imperfection that would be ironed out through bad eggs simply dying off has proliferated into a huge melting pot of disorders, see all the fucking cunts with peanut butter allergies (I WILL EAT MY FUCKING PB&J WHEREVER THE FUCK I WANT) and whatnot. That includes glasses too.
i ware contacts most of the time, but for just relaxing at home I wear glasses - it is slightly bad that 3/4 of the people on GB wear glasses (although only 1/4 of the GB crew wear contacts/glasses (Brad))
