I don't do it very often, but if the movie is that fucking good sometimes after work I will slip on over to the theater and see the movie that appearantly inspired me, and had a lasting impact on me. To name the 3 movies that did it to me, it is The Patriot (Mel Gibson, 3 viewings in theater), War of the Worlds ( Yes, the one with Tom Cruise, 3 viewings in theater), and The Fellowsip of the Ring ( 5 viewings at the theater, we all knew that Gandalf would fall, but seeing it happen hit my emotional strings like a sledge hammer, and I cried.)
Ever seen a movie multiple times in theaters?
I saw The Dark Knight and Iron Man twice in the theatres, that was due to the fact I saw it with my friends and then with my Dad.
I like The Patriot, watch it on DVD quite often. Weirdly, the actor who plays the bad guy is in Event Horizon, which I am watching right now.
I saw all 3 LoTR movies several times, but that's about it I think.
It's way too expensive. I watch movies in theaters maybe 3-6 times per year.
Renting DVDs id cheaper and often nicer.
Yeah tons, but I used to work in a movie theater so it's not really fair. One I remember going to more then 2 times was Matrix (1st one) - I loved that movie when it first came out (still do)
I used to go see movies multiple times a lot back in the late 90's. I saw Twister and Titanic 5 times each. These days I can't stand Titanic and truly wish I hadn't added any money to its billions. I also unfortunately watched The Phantom Menace 4 times in less than 48 hours. My total fanboyism for Star Wars back then knew no limits. It took a good 6 months and many more viewings at home before I finally started to see through the cracks. By the time Clones came out, my love for Star Wars was pretty much dead in the water.
Let's see, what other movies can I think of. I saw E.T. 4 times back when it came out. I do believe I'm finally starting to get old because I used to be able to remember all of the movies I had seen multiple times, but now I can't remember shit. I know there are quite a few that I saw two or three times, but I just can't think of them at the moment.
I saw the first 3 Potter movies twice in theaters and when I was little I saw Good Burger twice, lol.
I've seen all the LOTR films at least twice each. Transformers 2 twice (once with friends and once with my husband, i enjoyed it. ), Dark knight. and Crank 2 only because that film felt like a drug trip that i needed to see it again, came out feeling the exact same .
Of course! I have seen Star Trek, The Hangover, The Dark Knight, Watchmen, Star Wars Episode III, Die Another Day (I don't know why) and a few others at least 2 times in the theater. Some movies decrease in quality (Watchmen) while others are better (Hangover, Star Trek) the second time around.
Yes, but never because I liked the movie so much i had to see it twice.
I once walked out of the theatre and found two of my friends that had a spare ticket so I was like "sure" and saw Crank 1 twice.
Only if I have money to blow or I really like the movie. The last one was The Dark Knight last year, which I saw 4 times in theaters. I wish I could have seen it in IMAX, though. Too bad the only IMX theater near here in on the Navy base(Pensacola NAS) and it only shows documentaries,
I definitely have. I've seen quite a few movies twice in theaters.. Three times is pretty rare, however. Jurassic Park is the only movie I can think of that I saw three times in theaters. I think there's actually another one, though, but I can't think of it.
@the_stig & Inf225: i saw starwars episode 1 the phantom menace 9 times in the theater :O
that's the most i've ever seen a movie in public. i even saw it two days consecutively while spending a weekend at disney world [& also bought the soundtrack while there]! i was 13.
I've seen The Dark Knight 3 times, Cloverfield twice, War of the Worlds twice, all the Lord of the Ring movies twice and oddly enough Fast and Furious (09) and Tokyo Drift twice. Typically, if I feel that a movie is so epic that I won't have the same experience at home that I got at a big screen theater, I'll see it multiple times.
I think I ended up seeing Fellowship of the Ring about four times in the theater. Other than that, I saw At World's End and Dead Man's Chest three times apiece in the theater.
I went and saw The Dark Knight three times within it's first two weeks of release, but that's the only time I've ever been to the same movie more than twice. One of the viewings was at a Drive In.
