Frequent Emoticon User?

How often do you tend to use emoticons? Frequently, rarely, or never?

For some reason I tend to dislike people who frequently use them, both guys and girls. Guys that overuse emoticons just weird me out. Now that I think about it, I rarely use them. The only times that I can think of in where I used them would be the rare troll post or sending one to a girl when txting.

I rarely use them.  The only time I do is to put a ":P" at the end of a joke post that might sound serious and piss someone off otherwise.

Meh, I don't use them all that much.

I use them too often, I think!

On forums? Next to never. When talking to people in steam chat I will throw out the odd 8) from time to time to make a point that I was being sarcastic or that it was meant as a joke.

I rarely use them.  The only time I do is to put a ":P" at the end of a joke post that might sound serious and piss someone off otherwise.

This is basically the one situation where I justify using emoticons.

I don't think I've used an emoticon seriously for at least a few years.

I use them moderately.

It's a habit of mine, I admit, but I mainly only use them on forums to save time when I expect a rage response, so that I don't have to explain that it was a joke.  
 
Sadly, even when I use an emoticon and put in bold letters THE PRECEDING POST WAS A JOKE, I still have to explain that it was a joke half the time. One can never underestimate the sheer density of some people.

The intensity of my smiley face usage is that of a sine wave.

I tend to be mellow about most things but when it comes to emoticons, I want to burn the excessive users to death.

I tend to type them without thinking. :< I have to edit them out all the time. It's the worst habit ever. D:

Ya, I would only use them rarely in txts. Basically to give a general expression. I would never send one to a guy though, that's not me.

i rarely use emoticons unless im texting a girl.  i never used "lol" before....

I only use them I think someone might misconstrue a joke post as being serious, so I use them semi-frequently.

I actually find the emoticon thing to be a bad habit. I once, a long time ago felt that I had to make faces to put emphasis on the things I was saying, in case people couldn't understand the context.

Never use them, and hate it when people do.

On a forum like this? Sometimes

When chatting via text message/facebook/steam? Pretty frequently. Perhaps I should tone them down a bit haha.

I really don't like the X and D one. Okay, I don't like any of them, but that one... it's just absolutely horrible.
