Play Flower..
Haven't slept in two days, what should I do?
Step one, other then this and the following, don't take advice from people on an internet forum on health matters. Step two, go to your doctor.
Chew some velarian root and get more exercise...
But not really. I use Melatonin when I need to get to sleep. You can get it at most drug stores over the counter for like $5. It works well and is supposedly all natural.
@Belonpopo:
try f.lux for your computer. it makes things dimmer and less stimulating to the eyes at night.
workout during the day time to expend more energy earlier
don't take any stimulants like caffeine
try a sleep aid at night. don't take it too late or else you'll wake up too late.
warm milk before bed- old fashioned, but it works.
@Belonpopo:
First thing I'd try is exercise. Go get on a treadmill and run. Run until you are too tired to run anymore. If that is too hard then just walk fast, again until you literally can't continue. Wear yourself out. Good luck staying up after that. And drink a SHIT LOAD of water. This cannot be stressed enough. You should be drinking so much water that you are going to the bathroom once an hour. If you bust your ass like this you need to drink like a fish.
Enjoy!
Also, not recommended but sure to always work, take a benadryl (diphenhydramine 25mg) and 1 beer. This always works for me if i cant sleep and its bad but like I said, I would not recommend it (because it is obviously dangerous and you wake up tired).
I've had that problem for the last few summers. Whenever I sit around all day not doing anything makes it much worse, but when I excercise I find that I can fall asleep around 12 instead of 3.
Had the same problem a three or four years ago (when I was 16-17ish). Sedatives don't work. I just sort of grew out of it. Now I pass out the minute my face touches something comfy.
No idea what to recommend. Try sticking yourself in a dark room with little brain activity for an hour prior to "sleeping." If you're looking at screens, turn the brightness down to minimum. The body naturally releases it's own brand of sedatives in the absence of light, so keep that in mind.
