For some reason seeing this thread and the "Girl advise (but with a twist)" thread above each other really cracked me up!

Man, that first desk is beyond dirty, it's just filthy.  
 
I bought a new desk recently and I'm trying to keep it clean as long as possible, meaning I won't do anything near it.

My desk is usually that, with the occasional soda can hanging around. I don't have words for yours (or, rather, the one you once had). In fact, you just inspired me to be a little cleaner.

I felt bad because you could see electrical cords, and there was a little bit of dust up under the ledge on my desk.

Now, I've seen my share of messy desks but holy shit @envane . Find a woman immediately to reform you if you have ANY of that situation happening again. Especially the eating McDonalds. Really? I need to see what your desk looks like today, really bad television transformation-reveal and all.

Upon further inspection... I have to ask envane. What's that behind the monitor on the right? It... looks like it's a meat of some sort but I can't tell what.

I don't know if this says more about me as a person, but I just immediately assumed that photo was pulled off Google images and even looked through the first few pages. I do not know why, maybe because that photo is just crazy and I feel like no one could use that regularly and still be alive today.

The only things on my desk is this computer, my TV remote, and a coaster.

considering i don't actually having a desktop computer that i'm actively using, my computer desk is just merely a desk for me to put stuff and serves no actual computing purpose. there's just like, my wallet, change, lotion and all that jazz. the 'desk' i'm currently using for my temporary laptop (until i get a new laptop for college) is my own bed. that setup is messed up,though.

for whatever reason, this set up makes me wonder if i should replace the spot where my monitor is on that aforementioned desk with my laptop, but my current computing habits could not last with my laptop in a stationary position like that.

normally, i could just unplug my laptop but it requires to be charging at all times. otherwise it lasts like 1 minute.

I feel much better about my desk now, that keyboard was beyond words.

I think my desk is neat and tidy but I always seem to struggle with wire/cord management. Don't mind the Winnie the Pooh mousepad, It has some great (NSFW) sketches from a few friends :)

@thedj93: well i did set it up , i remeber grabbing every thing horrible i could and placing "cameo" filth in there for my own amusement .. BUT thats not to say i didnt have this filth at my disposal and clearly was a a low point of self-worth to live in that shit ..

but yes .. it was "staged" im sorry to disappoint .. or cause such mass disgust .. i wanted people to laugh at me not worry for my health and sanity

@wewantsthering: keep tellign yourself that lol ..i thought my desk was nothign compared to those in the messy desktop competitions .. plus if you took a photo at a higher angle and using more flash and higher detail , youd see the filth ..

my Desk never LOOKED that bad i swear .... just fucking grease, ash , and rubbish do not photograph very well

@Toxeia thats a big hunk of rose quartz .. its to absorb (supposedly ) the electro magnetic radiation from my pc and speakers etc ... i cant wait for ppls heads to explode trying to work out why i carted about EMR but not ... you know ... cleanliness

At one point I had the cans stacked up on either side of my monitor high enough to touch the ceiling.

That's the worst it's ever been. Ever since those days, I've kept my desk clean:
