Yup. Go check a bottle of anything--it's all labelled in ml. 750ml = a fifth = the most common bottle size.

Edit: But, yeah, I am actually a biologist so maybe I just take something like "750ml" for granted. But not lets get pulled into the whole metric vs american standard debate (even though metric makes a ton more sense)
