I like soda and thus have drank a lot of soda and a lot of different types of soda. Might as well put some of that time spent to use and write about it.
I'll primarily be covering glass bottled sodas, often referred to as gourmet or premium sodas, and occasionally the common canned soda.
You can consume my soda reviews right from the tap: http://www.hamst3r.com/soda/
or filtered through Twitter: http://twitter.com/Hamst3rsoda
Either way, it's still the great refreshing taste that you know and love.
Something like that.
If there are any premium sodas you absolutely love, let me know about them so I can try 'em out! :3

This is surprisingly interesting, I've tasted some of these sodas and you have the same taste buds as me my friend. Your Americana Root Beer Review was dead on.

Do you also include websites where we can purchase these beverages?
That would be nice. Also that is an awesome idea since I love soda but hate getting bad soda. Now I know were to go.

Thanks, duder!
I prefer Cream soda myself. Baking soda just tastes weird. Wasn't aware of other sodas then those two.

Canada Dry: I'm not a fan of it. The only time I'll drink Canada Dry is on an airplane, mainly due to a sort of ritual I have to always drink a Canada Dry on an airplane. It has the essence of a ginger ale floating in there, but it just so watery and bland. What are your thoughts on Canada Dry ginger ale and Cherry Coke?
On the other hand, Cherry Coke is awesome.

I shall review Vernors! It's available locally here and I might have even picked one up in my last haul. It's a ginger ale I've had before and it's pretty good, but I'll do a fresh tasting of it to properly review it. :)Review Vernors ginger ale, America's oldest surviving soft drink. That is if you can get some, they don't sell it everywhere sadly.
Try 'em out:
- Stewart's Orange Soda
- Moxie
- Captain Eli's Ginger/Root Beers
NuGrape is amazing, I got some in a classic soda sampler. The rest of the sodas were pretty disappointing but NuGrape really surprised me, tasted like melted freezer-pop. Delicious.
This is pretty awesome. I would definitely like to see more reviews on cream soda variations as its my favorite kind of soda.
@Hamst3r:
I'd love to hear your thoughts about Big Red:
http://www.bigred.com/Products
The flagship product is the normal big red soda, which you can purchase in a bottle.
This soda is available in very few places across the US and so you may only be able to get it online, but it is kind of expensive to do so:
It is cheap to buy here where it is widely available. You can buy a 24 pack for about 6 bucks instead of the $27 online, but I suppose that is because of the scarcity.
If you are interested, I can buy a single glass bottle and ship it to you (packaged well, obviously) if you just pay for the shipping.
Tastes best out of the glass bottle but the can and plastic bottle are also available.
It is HUGE down here in South Texas and people who move here from other place tend to either love it or think it is completely disgusting.
Just thought I'd drop a line here. This is pretty cool what you're doing. Take care!
@fireb0x: I'll look around for the cane sugar version of Big Red. If I can't find one, I'll PM ya. :)
@AgnosticJesus: Mountain Dew is delicious and you should drink some. I will eventually review the various flavors of MD.
If you can have access to Blenheim ginger ale you should try it. Old school ginger ale that actual has a nice burn to it.
You should review Moxie. Apparently it's one of America's oldest soft drinks and it's supposed to have a somewhat bitter taste. Should be interesting. I want to try it. And review Tab. I fucking love Tab. And Ski. It's made in the Midwest, like near Ohio, Kentucky, or Tennessee. Somewhere in that area. It's pretty good and you can order it online.
Hide your Pepsi, hide your Fanta 'cause Hamster is reviewing all the sodas over here.

It's scarce because it doesn't taste very good. I remember when it was initially released and it was horrible.
you should review ramune sodas. they're like japenese sodas with these crazy glasses.
to open them you have to remove the plastic and then take apart plastic part and put it back on the top and press down. a marble drops down on the soda. it's pretty cool. a friend and i found this out if you shake it and waht not the soda can shoot up like a mile high.
Try to get your hands on some Bubble-Up. It is my personal favorite soda of all time! I have no idea where it's sold anymore though, last local place that used to sell Bubble Up closed 3 years ago and I haven't had one since. :(
Edit: You also have yet to review Mexican Sprite and Mexican Coke, those are leaps and bounds better than the American counterparts. Gotta love that real sugar!
Also if your ever in Las Vegas I recommend you go to the second floor of the Coke store and try the Coke's of the World. 20 different Coke products from around the world (most of them are terrible, but some of them are fantastic!)
@Hamst3r: Where did you get anything from Boylan's outside of NY/NJ? Every site has prices at or around $40 for a 12 pack, which is pretty crazy. I mean, I love their root beer, but we're talking almost $4 a bottle, here.
I live in PA, but damned if I can find a retail store that sells it, even if I'm located only one state away.
@Hamst3r:
If you go to the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios they have their own version of Pumpkin Fizz from the books. It's like a mix of real pumpkin, orange soda, and maybe a couple things I can't identify, maybe a little cinnamon. I was there a year and a half ago and I still think about that drink. I've not tasted anything like it. Delightful!
@Hamst3r I guess I am not the only one that thinks a real root beer is one with a lot of red in it, those always taste the best.
Would love to get my hands on some of that classic mountain dew or whatever it's called.
I've had cherry coke recently, pretty great, too bad they don't sell it where I'm from.
Thanks, guys. All of the suggestions so far have been noted! I've had quite a few of them too: Moxie, Bubble Up, Ramune and Boylans. I'll definitely be trying them out again for review.
