Congrats dude, I just had my second kid on Friday. The best advice I can give is to not pay too much attention to other peoples opinions; every kid is different. The one thing in common though is that the first week with the new kid is rough, but after that its not too bad. After the normal several week quarantine, go out as much as you can with your wife because once they hit a year old or so, they can't sit still for a second. Also, don't pay attention to the breast feeding Nazis, we supplimented our first kid for the first several weeks because my wife didn't produce enough milk. He wouldn't sleep for about two days consistently but once we supplimented he slept so damn well.
