So, Metallica's new song is out on the radio and on their official site. What do you think?
The Day That Never Comes
It didn't blow me away, but it is better than anything they've written in a long, long time. The last three minutes are especially awesome. It feels like one of their older ballads with a touch of Orion and maybe a little ...And Justice For All.
Metallica - The Day That Never Comes
Sounds good, would have thought theyd release a heavier track at first to silence to nay-sayers, but its pretty decent.
It's pretty good. It's not as instantly classic as their earliest stuff, but it blows St. Anger straight to hell where it belongs. This has a lot of promise. They will probably never be as good as they once were, but I think they are staging a comeback. Metallica's back baby.
That song wasn't too bad, started out really nice... Maybe the new album won't suck as much as St.Anger, but who knows... Kinda wish they would just stop making any more music before they ruin their good name anymore.

"I thought "The Day That Never Comes" was the day that Metallica puts out another good album?"Oh snapple!
"After the whole Napster thing, I'm pretty much done with Metallica."
Because an artist didnt like being stolen from? Hes completely in the right.

As for the song it does sound okay, there is hope for this album yet!
"Whight_Knight said:Free ticket.Went for the laugh really."I seen Metallica last night live."I'm so sorry..."
"Its not bad, its not good. But i think this might be the last thing from Metallica."Which will leave Megadeth and Slayer ..
"xv0id said:Don't turn this into a Metallica vs. Megadeth flame fest."Its not bad, its not good. But i think this might be the last thing from Metallica."Which will leave Megadeth and Slayer .."
I think that song is awesome. They have smaller audio clips of the other songs on the album.
It sounds like 80's Metallica! What more could I possibly ask for right?
"Whight_Knight said:I'm not.I like both Metallica and Megadeth.I just like Megadeth a little better."xv0id said:Don't turn this into a Metallica vs. Megadeth flame fest.""Its not bad, its not good. But i think this might be the last thing from Metallica."Which will leave Megadeth and Slayer .."
I want to believe they are talking us back to the 80's Metallica. But in these mainstream days you can't be sure.
I love metallica so thanks for the song, as for napster? sorry but metallica was in their right sorry you have a harder time now finding your free music, Maybe next you want gasoline for free and food delivered to you on a silver platter nestled in the breasts of a goddess maybe?
As for that I have geniunely liked all music from metallica since their start. Cutting your hair doesn't mean you've sold out.
It kind of comes off as "nice try" to me, but I can see how it would appeal to others. It seems like they tried their best to distance themselves from St. Anger, but in doing so went much further away than they should have (but I guess it's a valid argument to say you can't get far enough from St. Anger).
St. Anger was a crime against music, like most stuff released post 1989.
... Bah, nevermind me, I'm just one of those jerks who think metallica and maiden were good only in the 80s. Their first albums are GOLD.
Good old Kill 'Em All & Iron Maiden. When they were too punk for metal and too metal for punk <3
Now to listen... Without prejudice.
OK.
First feeling is that sure, I can see how it could appeal to some people. I defo don't feel like it's a crime against music. That's saying a lot.
The problem is, like with most stuff, I'm having a hard time to move to the song. And to be honest if I have to force myself to "learn" to listen to something, there's no point.
Now I'm at the solo part. Decent, but I'm still not moving.

I dunno. Listen to this song, and then listen to Jump in the Fire, No Remorse or The Four Horsemen for example. I dunno, that's just how I feel.

I dont think its that bad, Im so sick of everyone always saying man they arent good any more, after the Black Album it went down hill, I mean honestly, if your a true Metallica Fan you like most if not all of their music, not just their first 2 cds or what not. I have hope for this Cd, I still hold that as my favorite band and metal band, I mean good you all must know nothing about music if you think a band is done for with one bad cd...

FUCK METALLICA THEN.

Well, I don't think it's quite black album. I went and listened to Justice, just curious. Maybe I'm hearing things. Hehe....
I will say this, and it's probably going to come up a lot, but it sounds like a combo of Justice and the black album. At least to me.
A slight return to form, my favourite Metallica song is.. well would have to toss up between Whiskey in the Jar and Turn the Page... this sample song really does feel good, feels like something I'd buy and enjoy. Anything is better than Saint Anger.
Any Metallica past 1991(Justice For All) was complete shit IMO. But this has promise, so i'll hold off judgement until I can buy the full album.
I like it a lot. It's really started to grow on me as I listen to it more and more.
And on a related note, this has made me totally stoked to buy Death Magnetic for Guitar Hero. I might even get it twice in III and World Tour.
im optimistic that it will be good but im not holding my breath, metallica became the band that they fought so hard not to become when they first came out in the 80's so on that part i just think that they lost their creative mind set that they used to have, but no matter what they will sellout every show and sell a zillion copies of the album which im sure that i will pick up in hopes that it takes me back to the master of puppets days...... hey i can dream right?
