Now I have a few things to say about Modern Warfare 2, the puddle of fanwank it is. The following contains statements of an entirely opinionated nature, this may feed some flamers.

Firstly I wanna say, that I think that any game that gets by entirely on it's multi-player - unless the player is under the pretense it is solely a multi-player game, in the instances of BF 2142 or MAG - is bloody cheap. MW2 is an MMO, like WOW, It's following is akin to WOWers. Please feel free to point out why it isn't. Now stand it next to the likes of Uncharted 2, another game with well recieved and popular multi-player. But it's as easily enjoyed offline as it is online, the story is immersive and the characters are (ableit cliche and sometimes downright annoying) charming and full.

I don't hate the mult-player, that's not what I'm taking a stab at. The game is popular for a reason, it's fun online, I get it. But what else is there to it really? Sure there's the campaign, but if it's anything like CoD 4/5's then you wouldn't be missing much if it was cut out of the game. Then again, aside from the subtle changes to multi-player - which with me only being a casual player of CoD 4 - would probably go unnoticed by the likes of me. The ability to shoot down UAVs may leave some gamers with sticky spots in ther drawers, but it doesn't do anything for me.

It's a case of "Do you like to play online? If so you'll absolutely love it!" Sorry I was a little frustration at how much hype this game has gathered. For those out there who are going to throw a little comment my way, possibly along the lines of "You're sore because you're not good at the multiplayer" or "You obviously haven't played it", you can take your answer from the following:

"I do suck at the multi-player, but hell I spent three or four hours on Call of Duty 5 and enjoyed it. I do like the multi-player, but it becomes an incredibly repetitive. Aside from some added perks, a few new features and omigawshsome new guns (I dunno, are there?), it's the same old game. Yes, if the boiler ain't broke don't call British Gasto come fix it. But for god's sake, get a new, better boiler every few years."

To summarize my feelings about MW2, I guess you could say it feels incomplete. A very lazy game, a cash cow. Imagine an open world RPG with detailed character customization, but no quests to complete and no opportunity to develop your character. It feels like there's something desperately missing. Granted, the co-op missions may aid in filling that void, but until there is a decently sized campaign put forth into the CoD/MW world, I'm out.

Opinions End Here

Oh and for those of you making a comment such as "Hating on MW2 doesn't automatically make you cool or a badass" and the such, I have no answer for you. I'm not trying to 'break away from the crowd' as it were, I'm trying to convey my opinion and perhaps see if there's anyone else who can perhaps see where I'm coming from.

Damn, u one brave son ofa bitch =P

Truthfully I think MW2 looks to be a pretty fun game regardless of its strong focus on multiplayer, i'm not getting it though because its just not my style of game tbh. Never been a fan of militarised shooters besides a standout few.

I can definitely see the fun in it Abyssfull, but the problem is that I get bored with it extremely easily. It may be because I have bad luck in player-matching and I always wind up with some cheap mother fucker exploiting glitches or using "that gun". It stops feeling like a test of skill.

Actually, I think that his statements would be more valid if he DIDN'T BUY THE GAME for those reasons. I don't like Modern Warfare, therefore, I don't go out and buy it. ^_^

it's not a cash cow. there are some things that they added that are different. a new campaign, new guns, better graphics, new game options like special ops. i don't think that counts as a cash cow. a cash cow would be like madden. there is nothing to it really other then football.

Well of course alot of the things stay the same: it's a sequel. An iteration of an existing franchise.

By the way, bolding everything doesn't help your argument. You're only one step away from CAPSLOCK.

Edit: I thought this had something to do with the steam version of MW2. Son, I am disappoint.

There's lots of lazy games, but MW2 isn't near as lazy as many.  Left 4 Dead 2?  Lazy.  Madden sequels?  Lazy.  MW2 doesn't do as much new as Uncharted 2 over Uncharted 1, but it's a decent completely new game.

I just prefer it in bold, if i thought the fond affected the argument it would be in caps, bright red and the biggest size. And fair point, but the reason I follow a number of franchises is because of the story and characters, same reason I watch Cold Case every day, even though all they do is flick back and forth between witnesses until one of them turns out to be guilty. It's the story that keeps me gripped. MW2 offers very little along the line of campaign
