And I'm PISSED OFF.
School has been cancelled.
Due to snow? Lucky. Not that they would ever close the University, but when I was younger we only ever got one snow day, and it was due to more snow then you could possibly imagine. Last year they delayed school for an hour because we had gotten something like 5 feet two days in a row. It was actually kind of cool, the piles from the plows covered the trees.
We had a major icestorm here in Iowa City, and they are still holding class.
Today is the last day of Finals Week for the University, so they aren't likely to cancel class.
my school also got closed today too. Awesome, where do you live btw? I am near Chicago now I got 2 weeks and 1 day off of school.
im on break, technicly im supposed to be at school today but its national skip day, no one goes, not even half the teachers. its great
how much snow you guys have, we have 25cm and we still have school. even though its national skip day

It also started at midnight. When it snows as much as it does in Utah, you're lucky to get a snow day."
is an ice storm basically just hail on steroids? We don't seem to get anything like that here in the UK.
"is an ice storm basically just hail on steroids? We don't seem to get anything like that here in the UK."An ice storm, as I understand it, is basically rain that freezes immediately on contact. The term "freezing rain" gets thrown around a lot, but that refers to rain that falls during freezing temperatures.
It's weird, seeing things the day after an ice storm. Trees and street lamps are literally encased in a thin layer of ice.
I've missed so many lessons in my sixth form college because of teachers being off ill this year (no supply teachers for A-levels), that I'm actually glad when I finally get a decent few lessons out of a day. As much as I love having time off, I'm going to be fucked in my exams in January and in the summer if many more lesson periods end up in us playing cards in the common room for the day.

In fact Uni is scarily similar.Though saying that, it does feel great to have the next three weeks off - even if I have A-level exams almost straight after I get back (3 days after my Birthday too :( )"
It's annoying when you go all the way to your place of study and find out there's nothing to do so you have to come all the way back.
In fact I hate that.
"I wish It'd snow here, but I've been outta school for 4 days because exams are over for us(College). It's some annoying crap, man, especially shoveling it.I've never seen snow in my life :("
"Commando said:Man, if it's that bad, say 'No' to whoever tells you to shovel it =/"I wish It'd snow here, but I've been outta school for 4 days because exams are over for us(College). It's some annoying crap, man, especially shoveling it."I've never seen snow in my life :("
