I'm back. I'll skip the elaborate intro: you know what to do.

I barely remember the beginning, but the general gist is: a man (early 20's) is living in a 'Brave New World'-esque world in which everyone is wearing mind-controlling headsets, in which music is either outlawed or strictly controlled, although I don't think the music aspect is prevalent throughout the movie. He is a genius, and hates himself for being conscious of the oppressive control every one else is oblivious to. He is either recruited or signs up to work for the government (I THINK as part of a censorship program). There he meets a woman who understands him (not completely, but she gets where he's coming from). Shit happens, and for some reason (I think they broke up) he locks himself in the radio station and starts playing music. I remember that the central piece for this 'pirate radio' scene was a soft saxophone solo. The police finally break in by melting the blast doors he'd lowered, and he's caught. Because of his status (or something) they can't kill him or get rid of him. He later shows up on a talk show to discuss his behavior. I think he first behaves 'rationally' but then he pulls out a gun and "eats it" so as to provoke a reaction from the people of the country (basically, his final stand against the oppressors). The scene right after is his parents who change looks and the father says, "Did something bad/sad just happen?". The last scene is a couple of boys who meet up, take off their headsets and start listening to a tape of the saxophone solo.

I watched this on a cassette, and I remember that the trailers before the movie included what can be considered soft-core porn movies, about a babysitter with two boyfriends, and about a man who loses everything for some reason. It was hot.

For your cooperation I'll be eternally grateful.

@handlas: I haven't seen BTTF (lame, I know), but I'm pretty sure that's not even close to the plot I described.

Try again.

close enough I think.

Back to the Future Part II perhaps?  The one with the hoverboards.

(I see regularassmilk already posted that....Part III then but that is a western and you didn't say anything about that so I assume not)

That's possibly the worst centrepiece for a movie ever, haha. You need to look up other movies, there's a whole world out there!

I can say definitively that this movie wasn't part of the BTTF series: no crazy doctor, no Marty McFly. It was a social commentary, not a comedy.

@themartyr: I'm trying to relive my past because my life as of right now kinda sucks. Don't be telling me I can't have that.
ALSO, if you're judging the movie, I assume you've seen it. If so, reveal unto us the name. If you haven't seen it, then where do you get off saying it's dumb? If it it, indeed, SO dumb and there's a big world out there, recommend a movie that you consider better than mine. I dare you.
