Besides the "you have gorgeous eyes" (I have these somewhat rare green/hazel colored eyes that apparently girls like...who knows?), legitimately it would be either be some form of "You're so sweet/funny/nice/blah blah whatever".
Or to be all sappy, a lady friend told me "I Love you" before I said the same thing. Yup
@VinceNotVance: It sounds like you have the same color of eyes I have, in that I have no idea what the color of my eyes are. Seriously, my best compliment(s) have been the occassionally "I like you" ones, nothing strong, but nothing beats hearing that from someone I don't know very well.
A girl once approached me on the train to university and asked me if I can help her out with her practical exam. She was becoming a make up artist or something like that and needed people with characteristic faces. She only asked me to be a stand-by candidate in case one of the persons she already had in place wouldn't turn up ...but still ... was pretty uplifting and most important of all: it wasn't fake because personal feelings had nothing to do with it.
I was told to go to a modeling thing before by the girl who cuts my hair, but that's not something I'd be into. I also was told that I have very nice teeth and a very rare eye color as well (It's like, Green on the outside and gold on the inside). Also I have been told that my lips are very "luscious".
Also, when I graduated we had this thing at my high school where they would hand out beer bottles with awards on them. I was voted the graduate with the best hair, teeth AND eyes!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but "You're everything a woman wants" is right up there, next to "Any girl would be lucky to have you" as the number #1 bullshit line that lady friends would give you while you're stuck in the friend zone.

I don't feel like explaining, because obviously who cares, but it had nothing to do with being friends.

No worries! I've heard it many times but only once did it actually mean anything, haha.
@VinceNotVance: Dude I so have these eyes too. On dark days mine a dark brown, but on a sunny day they are a vivid green, it's awesome and I've been complimented on it a few times.
