I'm talking in terms of an actual item so not "the love of my life" or something corny like that :P . For me it would have to be my official PS3 bluetooth headset. It worked great for gaming so I thought I'd use it for my phone and again it worked great... problem is it fell out of my pocket while at school so I kissed that thing goodbye, no I have to use a cheap LG headset.
What's the most valuable thing you've lost?
The love of my life! ... DAMNIT! WHYYY! ..
Well ok in all seriousness, nothing pops up in my mind.
I take care of the valuable stuff, I guess.
Love of my life as well. Um, let's see. I lost an MP3 player before which totally sucked since this was back in the day before iPods were cool and that thing was super expensive (But only held like 200 songs). That's really it, I'm usually pretty damn careful with my electronics/valuables.
I have a friend who lost a Rolex watch in England which his dad gave to him...we give him so much shit about it to this day.
The worst would be my calculator in high school. Other than that, I don't think I've lost anything of significant value.
Honestly, a pillow case my mom made me. I took the pillow with me on a speech and debate trip I was judging on and forgot it at the hotel.
Aside from the love of my life? Hmm... I don't loose stuff.. I check and double check my stuff all the time to be sure I haven't.
Though my XPS laptop for 2,5 grand broke so I guess that could count as a "loss".
Well, besides the love of my life, I've probably lost a lot of change. And I lost Boone on Fallout: New Vegas once, but I found him again. I want that damn change back!
I've always been pretty careful with valuable stuff. Once I lost my GameBoy SP, but I got it back about a month later.
Lost an autographed photo of Wayne Gretzky that he signed in his first year on the LA Kings. My mom got it for me; she is a pediatric nurse at the hospital that Gretzky and his wife had their first child. I threw it in a closet where I kept all my toys and other childhood junk because I wasn't a fan of hockey, and have been unable to find it in my parents' house ever since.
It's probably worth a little bit of money now.
Was going to come in and say my dad back in '06, but I will just assume loved ones are included in "something corny like that"
For material possessions, some Yu-Gi-Oh cards were stolen way back when that was the cool thing for kids to collect.
" The worst would be my calculator in high school. Other than that, I don't think I've lost anything of significant value. "Oh shit, me too! Those expensive ass TI-89s, one broke when my bag dropped accidentally, one was stolen. $200+ between both of them. Sucked.
I'm joking btw please don't take it personally :P
" @ClaritySam: Well giving it to your mom doesn't mean you lost it.... I'm joking btw please don't take it personally :P "OH SNAP IT'S ON NOW SON! :-)
" @RE_Player92 said:Wait, if he's your son then that means you had sex with his grandmother. That's a burn in itself." @ClaritySam: Well giving it to your mom doesn't mean you lost it.... I'm joking btw please don't take it personally :P "OH SNAP IT'S ON NOW SON! :-) "
" @FlyingRat: I 100% understand and am in kind of the same boat. I was just asking for say the most valuable thing maybe in monetary value. "Right, okay... In that case... erm.... well i've never really lost anything that was worth a whole lot. I got rid of a shit ton of games a while back though. When i thought i was done with gaming. Turns out i wasn't. Kind of regret it now, but hey, you live, you learn.
An autograph I got from a real Shaolin monk. Somewhere on a bus in North London...
Also, PSP batteries, DS styluses, and the love of my life. Respectively.
I also have hard drive woes. The hard drive I used for over 2 years in college completely crashed on me at the end of a video editing class. It had all of my college work on it, and I never recovered any of it. Being in a 3 year college meant that I was on pure panic mode for the final 9 months of my education, since it all culminated in a portfolio review that represents the best of your work. So yeah, I had a lot of work to do.
Despite that, I did pass on my first time through. =)
One time I went out and bought this limited edition 686 x Dakine snowboarding jacket/backpack combo thing for like $500. I went to a part at a good friend of mine's house a week later and left the backpack with all my shit in it on top of my jacket which was hanging on the back of a chair upstairs. I went downstairs for literally 3 minutes to grab a drink and see who was there already. When I came back up my backpack was there but the jacket was gone. I literally cried.
I lost (or was it stolen!?) my graphing calculator in high school, which made math 12 a huge bitch and I got a lot of trouble for it.
