Although its just a "list" as an X-Files geek I am dissapointed by Cancer Man only being #79.

I pretty much knew when I clicked this list the Joker would be number one, which is kind of sad.

It's kind of epic, actually. I like The Shark at ten, but I think Darth Vader at eleven was a terrible choice. He should top five in my opinion. Hans Gruber should have been top twenty, as well. I was hoping Newman from Seinfeld would have made an appearance, but tt was nice to see Side Show Bob and Mr. Burns on the list.

Sephiroth is 96, but otherwise it's kind of a shame they had to number them. Pazuzu as number 2 made me chuckle and realize it too is a shame Megaten isn't popular enough to be on one of these lists. I can think of a certain someone that would be a controversial choice.

Exactly, swap Vader and Palpatine and I would be satisfied. And Joker being #1 is total BS in my opinion. 1984's Big Brother at #75 made me chuckle though.

Why is the Shark from Jaws rated so high? What has it done to put it above the likes of Ozymandias or even Mr. Burns? lol
But in all seriousness I'm glad to see my main man DR. DOOM to be ranked at #4. I wish Michael Corleone was ranked a bit higher though. Oh, and seeing Big Brother from 1984 was a pleasant surprise.

Switch Francis with Buu, and then things would be more accurate. Still, I love this list.

I had to look up Endo from Lethal Weapon, because it's my favorite movie series and I didn't know who they were talking about. For those of you wondering, he's the guy that electrocutes Riggs in the first movie. While a cool bad guy for sure, I'm surprised Gary Busey's Mr. Joshua didn't rank higher.

I'm happy to see Rocky 3's Clubber Lang and The Warrior's Luther making the cut. Judge Doom from Roger Rabbit was a pretty memorable and terrifying villain. By the way, since when was Rowdy Roddy Piper considered a villain? I always thought he was a good guy...

I think they covered a lot of great villains, so it appears to be a pretty decent list.

He does! Oh God, I'm a failure at life! I have forsaken my favorite movie franchise! Don't look at me! Don't look at me! I cannot bear the shame!

I must have just never really picked up on the name. Heck, if you were to ask me who the bad guy was in the first Lethal Weapon, I'd just say Gary Busey, not Mr. Joshua. Though, when I hear the name Mr. Joshua, I do clearly know that it is Gary Busey. As for Endo, to me, he's just the crazy asian electrocution guy.

My biggest disappointment with this list is probably that Norman Bates is so far down it.

The Joker? Heh, you're gonna put The Joker on that list? Well, let me tell you something: Kefka was spreading chaos long before, um, Heath Ledger was on the scene. (In case you can't tell, that was my bad "Heath Ledger as The Joker" impression.)

This guy should have been higher...also, AFI (American Film Institute) had a similar list a few years ago.  Entertainment Weekly did a top 20 recently, too.

While I like that Hannibal Lector is high on the list, I would have put him within one place of the Joker, either behind or ahead. Also, Norman Bates at #93 I find to be blasphemous, but hey, their list.

Wait, SYNDROME AT 64? Are you goddamn kidding me!? He was a fucking awful villain! Holy shit.

This, and:

Two incredible villains are missing:
Film: Amon Goeth (Schindler's List)
VG: Giygas (Earthbound)

I forgot everyone hated the Dark Knight.

That being said, the shark and Ozymandias nods were good. Fine list in my opinion.

But while the Joker was inventing flowers that spray acid or banana peels that could break your back upon slipping, Kefka was just blowing shit up.

The Joker does that fairly often.

Anyway, if it's feats of destruction that matter to you, then Brainiac and Buu already top Kefka.

Also, Galactus shouldn't be on the list. He's not a villain.

I always thought he just went to people's houses, lit bags of poo on fire, and put landmines under the poo.

No, I'm more into the sheer awfulness of Kefka. He knows he's evil, but he simply doesn't give two craps. He'd kill somebody just because he's bored.

@Video_Game_King: I agree, and in that respect Kefka is far more chaotic and destructive than the Joker. I wonder why they didn't call him Kafka after all, since the character is so clearly inspired by kafkaesque behavior.

Ah, a fellow Kafka friend. Not him, but the correct chronology of FF suffered as well under translation! :P

I can't be the only one disappointed that Doomsday didn't make this list, considering he actually killed Superman himself and in one instance had to be sent to the end of time itself in order to be stopped. Along with the amount of destruction he caused...

The Borg (Star Trek) os way to high on the list they are in the 60s at best. Tony Soprano (The Sopranos) is a flawed protagonist not a villain. How about Damien Thorn, who literally the son of the devil from the Omen books and movies? And, where is Captian Hook? Where are just 'Martians'? Dr No? Dr Evil? Dr Girlfriend?
