True. An American was the first to really mass produce them. That's really where the US built all of its economic power, not through its inventions themselves, but figuring out how to manufacture things quickly and efficiently. And now we've reached a point where we produce the inventions in the US, and then ship the cheap and quick manufacturing overseas (I say "cheap" instead of "efficient", because I don't consider forcing droves of people to work for next to nothing to be efficient... not to say that the US never had seedy sweatshops either). We didn't learn very much from history, now did we?
The American way. I guess, again, if arbitrary distinctions are the factor in making something. There's your first patent and the first mass production for public consumption was America. The first vehicle moving on its own happened in France. Any way you slice it, left sided drivers played no part in it. This is what every world empire argument boils down to. Serious stuff."

No way in hell. The EU has not exactly been an outstanding success for Europe: why should we unite the entire world? What good would come out of it? People and nations around the world are unique and all have different ideas on how to govern. Why make some weak centralized government that no one would agree with? Agreed... we've really already tried the "weak centralized government" idea with the UN, and it hasn't exactly been a resounding success. The countries that you named don't exactly agree on anything there either. The only way that this hypothetical "United Earth" would be any different from the UN is if it wasn't a "weak" centralized government, but that brings with it a whole host of different problems.

" no because it wouldn't last all around the world we have different cultures and would eventually disgree on something till a civil war happens "the point is to be free, so that everybody can enjoy freedom. US is a good example about that, there are many different people with different cultures living in the same country, take Amish as an example. Also, different laws could be applied to different parts of the world, in the same way laws differ between states, or even more. Obama is trying to change the health system, maybe that change could be done in a single state, if they could decide about those questions.
Now the point is, if every state (previous country) can decide on so many questions, virtually anything, what is the union of them all good for? what's the difference?
I guess it would be nice not to need a passport and not to use different currencies, I like that in Europe.

A one world government will not be peaceful as you say, it will be a dictatorship. If there are power players who are the banking elite who gets control, they don't have everyone's interest in mind. There will be no one who can stand up to this. Back then hitler also dreamed of a one world order and it didn't work out. However if it did, you can sort of imagine how it would turn out. It would be like the novel 1984 mixed with V for vendetta.
They already signed a secret agreement that the entire north america will be one country including mexico. The european union is already complete, now they have to join it and create a one world currency. They are going to be in control and I believe in order to keep everyone in line, our banking will be done electronically. We all have to use a chip called an RFID chip or we can't eat or buy stuff. If you go against this one world government, they will simply turn off your chip. Globalisation is the worst thing that can happen because it will overide democracy and also the constitution. I am sure it's not going to be a democracy.
