I imagine you'll have a post explaining what the hell this even means.
Your favorite video game media that isn't... well a video game.
For me I would have to go with movies. While there are no doubt some shitty movies, there are some decent ones (MK1) and also a few guilty pleasures ( I like 1 or 2 of the Resident Evil films). What bout them other duders out there!
EDITT: Thought it would be clear enough just by the answers but what do you like to see other video game properties in.
The books and music.
I don't generally listen to video game music as a leisure activity; however, some of it provides for excellent study listening material. The soundtracks for the Elder Scrolls series, for instance, are designed for ambiance and mood. They are not designed to constantly draw your attention to the beats and the rhythms and the lyrics; rather, they're designed to fit the game world and to focus your attention on that. While being a homework helper isn't their intended purpose, it is a very practical application for me.
The books because I like to read stuff. Just stuff. Bad stuff, good stuff; I'm especially tolerant of bad stuff if it presents more information about a story I like, though I haven't read much in a while. An example of an excellent video game book is Halo The Fall of Reach and its sequel, First Strike. Both books, as far as I'm concerned, are shining examples of how to successfully describe space combat while keeping the suspense up. If you like space navy fiction at all, you should probably read these two books regardless of your opinion on the games.
Books.
The first two Halo novels (the only two I've read, the others may be good, don't know) and all three Mass Effect novels are excellent.
I also listen to a lot video game music, both original and fan remixes. If anyone is interested in video game remixes, this site is great, much better than OCRemix.
I clicked other, and I don't know if this counts, but it's got to be music. Even a bad game can have an awesome soundtrack. Not to mention things like Video Games Live. My Kingdom Hearts 2 soundtrack is one of my favorite albums to just listen to in general.
None they are all shitty... I enjoyed a few warcraft books but I read(started) like 30 video game based books and only like 3 were bearable so I stopped doing it. Games are games, if the warcraft movie is good I might change my mind! Especially since its Sam Raimi
Some people are just dense, I swear. I like books as my form of Video game but not Video-game fix. Just fleshes out the story much better than a film, and allows multiple people to expand upon it that aren't big hollywood types. I mean, any of the resident evil books are tons better than the films. Hell, they at least stick to the story lol.
Books, comics and music can all be used to great effect to convey something from a video game universe, I would list movies too but we haven't gotten much to celebrate from that front.
Anyway video games are best experienced as video games in the end of the day.
I've got a Pac Man cross stitch wall hang that my girl friend made for me before she died. I'd choose that over any other media.

Books. I really enjoy the first two Doom novels.
Same. I too enjoy reading novels and books based on video games. I've read several Resident Evil novels by S.D. Perry and some Blizzard books. The last I read was Doom 3: Worlds on Fire. Next book will be Rage.
