Everyday when I get home from school, I'm incredibly hungry--a feeling I'm sure I'm not alone in.

Now I'm not exactly culinarily-inclined, so when I make myself a meal I like to keep it simple. And usually, that means I make myself a delicious sandwich!

So here's my spread:

1. Toasted Sourdough Bread

2. Mayonnaise

3. Lettuce

4. Two Slices of Swiss Cheese

5. Two Slices of Turkey

Put it all together and you got one hell of a sandwich. So tell me, what's your favorite homemade sandwich?

I usually just get two slices of toast and put tuna and mayo in between.

Italian bread with tuna on one slice and provolone on the other. Toast it in a toaster oven. Add mayo, shredded lettuce, and tomato slices.

Delicious.

I used to eat baloney and cheese sandwiches folded with one piece of bread. Nowadays I usually eat lean turkey or ham with low-fat cheese. Ever since I've lost alot of weight my eating habits changed.

One slice of wonder bread slab on some chunky skippy peanut butter

Another slice of Wonder bread slab it with some strawberry jam

Crunch those two motherfuckers together and directly into my belly.

Fresh white bread, strawberry jam, a bit of nutella, and corn flakes. Anything with an over easy is good too!

Some kind of fowl, though any meat will do. Or fish. Or egg. Or beanpaste. Or cheese. Or whatever protein source is at hand. Or any combination of the above. Butter. Some kind of sauce, preferably hot and spicy. Greens. Pickles. Spices. Herbs. Fresh bread. Any will do. Preferably toasted.

Any well-made sandwich is the best sandwich, it's just a matter of timing. The most important ingredient is hunger - always. In that way, sandwiches are like easy women.

Two slices of good white bread with softened butter or margarine spread on one side of the bread

Two slices good melting cheese (cheddar, montery jack, combo jack/colby, whatever you like)

A couple of slices of thick bacon, cooked

Then you grill cheese that mf up. You can also add sliced tomato or replace the bacon with ham or turkey, but I like it best with bacon.

I am nothing if not simple.

I also make sandwiches for my husband when we're hanging out on the weekends and I usually put everything but the kitchen sink on it - ham, turkey, romaine lettuce, tomato, pickle slices, swiss or cheddar cheese, a little bit or mayo and mustard, all on really good white or wheat bread.

Back in school, I'd take a cutlet (or I guess a meatloaf technically?) and put it between two breads, with Philadelphia salmon cheese spread for moistness. Pretty sweet. Not an elegant or my 'ideal', but it served well enough.

Depends on my mood, but you can't go wrong with a BLT, a burger, tuna salad, grilled cheese or a Reuben. Or a club. Or a turkey and ham.

Or a spicy chicken patty.

...I really like sandwiches, is what I'm saying.

I like a good breakfast sandwich. Something like this:

  • bacon
  • egg
  • cheese
  • ham or something
  • some apple shavings or thin slices, they add just a hint of sweetness and coolness

all toasted on a bagel most likely. With the rest of the apple on the side.

Otherwise I'll just pile a bunch of meat and cheese between some sturdy, non white bread and I'm good. If that meat is grilled or fried then all the better. I don't like a lot of superfluous green stuff or other veggies on my sandwich.

Put some turkey in there (minus the nutella) and you got yourself the "Sinners Sandwich"

Gouda/Holland cheese with some Genoa/hard Salami in AUTHENTIC Cuban bread. Not that crap you buy in your walmarts or local market. It either has to come from a small spanish bakery/market or, preferably, straight from a Cuban in Miami. Cause the way I see it, it ain't cuban unless it's made by a cuban. :)

IF all three components are acquired and combined, then you have the perfect sandwich. Goes well with any kind of extras too.

-At least two good thick slices of bread, buttered and lightly fried

-Melted cheese (I like mozzarella or jarlsberg)

- finely chopped and fried speck

- fried egg(s), moist yolk

- tomato (optional)

- fried onion (optional)

- freshly sliced chilli (optional)

Incredibly unhealthy, but fucking awesome.

I'm not sure a sandwich gets much better than a plain old grilled ham and cheese with mayo. It's simple, but it's my personal favorite to make. I wish I could make a decent pulled pork sandwich without bone or gristle. Ugh.
