Poll OLED Vita owners, have you upgrade/trade-in your OLED for the LED version or did you just purchase a second Vita? (111 votes)

Yes, I've upgraded and have no regrets. 3%
Yes, I've upgraded but kept my OLED system as a backup. 3%
Yes, I've upgraded but wish I hadn't. 1%
Yes, I traded it in but didn't buy another Vita 1%
No, the OLED Vita is the ONLY Vita, thank you very much! 93%

With games like VA-11 HALL-A and Paper's Please making an appearance on the system, I've asked my friends and co-workers that have owned a Vita this exact question. Out of 5 people, I got 5 different answers which you see above. Wanted to check with this group to get a better idea of what people have done (and are doing) with their Vitas these days.

This is my first poll here on GiantBomb so my apologies if I'm not doing this right. That said, it makes sense that my first one is a Vita post as I don't ever plan to part with mine (I own 3).

The second one is LCD, not LED.

I never upgraded. The only thing I would really want from the other one is the ability to charge it without that stupid custom cable.

Wait, the OLED screen was the better screen, why would I want to "upgrade"?

@flippyandnod: You are correct! My first poll (and post) on this site is going splendidly well. @_@

@justin258: I know, right? But I did pick up a newer LCD version when they initially dropped in price and stores were looking to liquidate them (about 3 years back). The OLED is my standard but I do like bringing the LCD one when I go to events so I don't worry about scratching the screen as much (or somehow losing my OLED one).

@kingbonesaw: When I'm traveling, I swear by remote play on the newer LCD Vita. It's lighter than the OLED which means long grind-a-thons in games like FFXII don't destroy my wrists. At home and at work, it's all about the OLED and story games like Danganronpa and VLR. Thanks for sharing your experience and I'm worried that if I picked up a Switch, I'd be in the same spot. There's just too big a game backlog for me to pick up another console (an still remain married) at this point.

I see the new one as a downgrade so never had any motivation to make a change

OLED has more letters than LCD. Numbers are better when they go higher. I kept my OLED and mever thought about upgrading.

Got my OLED one refurbished and it feels solid exceeept the screen kinda got trashed pretty early on (possibly because I might have slept on it on more than one occasion *whistles*). It's still 90% fine, just some scratches/blemishes I wish weren't there, cause it's a damn fine screen.

Do they even manufacture Vitas anymore?

e: if I could somehow mod my OG Vita with mini USB or usb-c charging and micro-SD I may consider bringing it out of its retirement.

Still have the OLED one. My vita was dormant for a while but over the last few years I've used it tons due to some of the PS+ games and smaller titles that are now on it.

I've never seen one the LCD ones up close. Can't say how big of a difference the screen makes.

I've had my OLED Vita for 5 years and the screen is definitely vibrant. I haven't played the LCD version so I can't exactly compare the two but I like the size of the OLED, so I have no plans to trade it in.

I have used both and barely ever noticed a difference between the two screens.

I actually heard about Sony making the switch from OLED to LCD and I ran out to get an OLED vita before they became extinct.

I have kept my original OLED Vita and haven't bought another one. Believe it or not, I have thought about buying a PlayStation TV in order to have a backup way to play Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable, but that's about it.
