    This is the closest I've come so far.
    Also it seems I've hired all of the best staff available, as every time I try to hire via Hollywood Agent, the same low level schmucks keep turning up for interviews.

    I have one game that scored a 40.  It didn't even win Game of the Year, and nothing special happens.  I had another game that scored a 37 that did win.  No clue why.

    Demon Souls Was Gamespot's Game of the year. It only got 4 stars on GB

     Got one from a sequel not too long ago, the only thing I recall doing is I've maxed out Realism, Innovation and Polish, then get Fun and Creativity to around 250ish with 170 for Graphics and Sound. Reviewers went nuts for it. The sequel to got 38 but had way way higher sales :)

    Just got a 39, my highest ever. Hoping for Game of the Year but not getting my hopes up. Probably be Legend of Helga again.

    It's ported from a Japanese phone into the iPhone/iPod touch platform, you'll see reviews around the net showing why it doesn't use up all the screen space.

    I got a perfect 40 on Back Mission 4, but it didn't win GOTY.  I keep clearing the other 3 (design, music, and runner-up) but never get the game of the year.  Curse you Towervania!

    Got 39 myself, and hit the hall of fame, but not got a fourty either.
    Its addictive as hell, but i'm struggling to find a hardware engineer so i can make my own console even though i'm about 16 years in

    39 is as high as I've gotten Wowserz!!!!!3 with about 38 million sold and 114 million in profit! On my own console as well.

    I read the beginning of this thread this morning, and wondered if 40s were impossible, but I got 2 today! Don'tStopRu3 (which is the second sequel to Don't Stop Run, my awesome marathon racing game) and one other which I am embarrassed to say I don't remember.) Only the first won GOTY though.

    Got me one 40 today. Finally. The best part? it was a Audio Novel/spy. Sold a measly 25mill. Made by my programmers on a 115k wage salery, all Hackers in Y19

    I've gotten two or three 40's. Mainly off of my Robot-Shooter series. 
     
    I always get the last guy giving me a nine. I think it's just to spite me.
