    Overview

Garfield's Fun Fest is a 2D side-scrolling platformer game developed by Black Lantern Studios, Inc. and published for the Nintendo DS in North America (by DSI Games) and Europe (by ZOO Digital Publishing) on August 29, 2008.

Based on the 2008 CGI animated film of the same name, itself based on the syndicated comic strip Garfield and a sequel to the 2007 film Garfield Gets Real (which later received its own video game adaptation), Garfield's Fun Fest puts players in the role of the tabby cat Garfield as he tries to win the annual Fun Fest competition while winning back his love interest Arlene.

Much of the game involves controlling both Garfield and his dog companion Odie as they search the level for various items. It is unique for its "Energy" meter, which depletes over time, is lost by getting hit from enemies, and is replenished by eating food. Once the meter runs out, Garfield begins to take a nap and Odie, if he is around, has a limited amount of time to reach an alarm clock to wake Garfield up. The game also includes several mini-game segments, namely an auto-scrolling segment and a rhythm mini-game.

A game based on the film's sequel was in development by Black Lantern Studios, but was cancelled prior to release.
