Poll PC gamers, what will you be doing? (441 votes)
Just curious as to what you guys will be doing. I'll probably just pick it up for the PS3 and play it on that, not 100% sure just yet.
Game » consists of 21 releases. Released Sep 17, 2013

I thought I could wait but I couldn't. So I bought it for the PS3. The sucky thing for me is that I have all my consoles stored away. So now when the games comes out I have to take the PS3 out of storage and hook it back up. I guess it's not that big of a deal but I really wanted to put them away for good.
I'll also probably end up buying it for PC too. At first I scoffed at the idea, but then I realized I've already done it with EVERY GTA game. I bought 3 and Vice City originally on PS2 then they came out in a bundle on the Xbox and bought that. Then I got San Andreas for PS2. Sold it at one point. Bought it for PC, and ended up getting my hands on it again years later while buying a lot of PS2 games off of Ebay.
So what's another one I guess?
Canceled my preorder. Going to just wait it out. I really fucking hate playing in front of a TV.
I no longer own a current gen console, so I have no choice but to wait. Already skint enough without paying for an xbox, gold, and a game.
Don't get me wrong, I would sell a lung to play it, this'll be the first GTA game I don't get on release day/midnight, and it's looking to be one of the best
I'm still not sure, I really want it for PC but maybe I will get it for PS3. I still play it from time to time but I haven't bought a full priced game in so long it just feels weird if I do.
I think Watch_Dogs will scratch this itch for me, so I'll have no problem waiting for the PC version. Also my gaming backlog is big enough to keep me busy.
Playing the endless amount of PC games available like ArmA III which has an EVEN BIGGER world than GTA V. Or I might buy GTA V on for PS3/360 if the reviews are any good.
I'll get the PS3 version at launch and then get the PC version at a much later date when I can buy it for $10 or so.
Hype is nice, but being a responsible grown up who conserves his money and spends wisely is nicer.
I'm not gonna buy it for PS3 when I know I will buy it for PC later, especially that I hate playing shooters without a mouse, it sucks the life out of me.
Not waiting, that's for damn sure. Fuck that noise.
Getting it on PS3. Then when maybe DLC rolls around and hopefully I'm still into multi I can get a PC version down the road.

This response cracked me up.
PS3 now, PC later when on sale.
This will most likely be what I'll do, all of the footage of the game has surprised me in that I haven't seen any serious FPS drops
Definitely double dipping. Sure, I'm falling into their trap like a good little sheep, but fuck it. From everything I've seen, GTAV and Rockstar deserve it.

I agree there are obvious business reasons it makes sense (look at all these double dips) but also from the bit I've seen trying to avoid spoiling it, it seems like they really nailed performance on the current gen hardware, which I'm sure took a lot of effort.
All this double dipping makes me kind of disappointed in you guys. I respect that you can do whatever the hell you want with your money, but really? Spending on the same game twice? And perpetuating the notion that console games sell better, instead of putting your money towards the PC sales statistics page only?
Damn.

I'm not playing PC vs console politics with my time and money, that's crazy.
And Rockstar is by far my favorite developer, couldn't feel less guilty double dipping on a game that looks as good as GTA V looks.
I don't mind buying the same game twice, at least when it's a very good game in question (so hasn't happened too many times). Bought Max Payne 3 originally for PS3 and then the pc-version in january. The fact that Gamestop was selling it for around 9 euros or so helped the decision quite a lot.
I do not want and will not be playing this title on last gen hardware. Don't feel like hooking up a lame duck to play a "new" game. Have some summer sale titles to catch up on anyway.
After upgrading my PC this february I am just having a really hard time playing PS3 games. Especially now that many new releases have had serious framerate issues as of late. I'll pick it up on PC or PS4 if such versions will ever exist..
I'll hold out for the PC version, I'm not a huge GTA fan anyway. I built a new PC recently and I feel like I shouldn't settle for older technology at this point, even though the console version should be fine.
I am for sure getting the console version first. If it ever comes out on PC, then one day when I'm really bored and it's like $20 or less on PC then I will get it.
