    Overview

    Hadean Lands is piece of interactive fiction created by Andrew Plotkin. It is available for purchase in an open-source format called Glux. Interpreters are available for most systems and there are also installer packaged versions of the game for PC and Mac.

    Gameplay

    The protagonist is stranded in an airless wasteland with a damaged starship. In order to survive and perhaps be able to leave, one has to learn an increasingly complicated system of alchemy. The game is heavily centered on this puzzle mechanic, remembering procedures for the player in order to minimize repetition.

    Kickstarter Campaign

    The project was launched on Kickstarter on November 1 in 2010, asking for $8,000 to be able to complete the game. When the campaign closed, 713 backers had pledged $31,337.
