The franchise that defined the Xbox, Halo contains some of the most popular games ever released. The Halo FPS titles are revered for their excellent gamepad control and high-quality online multiplayer. The franchise now contains novels, soda tie-ins, an RTS spin-off, toys, and more.
It's all good, though. I'm also not a hardcore Halo multiplayer guy (Halo multiplayer is likely my favourite FPS multiplayer, though), so you won't find me parading one game's multiplayer as "crap" or some such. Halo 2 gets a nod because the selection of maps was goddamn excellent, and I really loved the additions made to the series in Reach. CE gets least favourite because I never really did the LAN thing at the time and mostly just played split-screen co-op. I have never enjoyed CE's multiplayer when going back to it, that is not to say that I can't imagine enjoying it if I had played it during its heyday.
I gotta say halo 2 is my favorite since it was one of the first multiplayer shooters I've ever played and it was crazy fun.
Reach is my least favorite. I still play Halo Reach from time to time but I dont really like the whole loadouts thing. I wish there were no shields in that game. Also, I can't seem to land sticky grenades as well as I can in the other games for some reason.
I loved Halo 2 and 3 mp both. Halo 2 had better maps overall, but the Halo 3 mp looked much better, and was much more secure. Reach not so fun for me. I'll blame Halo burnout mostly...but I liked the Reach sp, so....
@CouncilorChief: Nah, I think 343 is on a better track than Bungie was with Reach. They seem to be stripping the game of most of the armour abilities and they've brought back the Battle Rifle.
