    This musclebound character, who shares his name with a Hindu deity, first appeared along with Benten in the original Cho Aniki , a shooter for the PC Engine. He is a celestial warrior, a fast fliier wiht a direct shot, and Benten's love. In the first installment he and Benten battle through enemies to defeat Bo Emperor Bill (Bo tei bill, a pun on "bodybuild)", the ruler of Planet Builder, who has begun attacking star systems in attempts to gather more protein.

    Though replaced in the second game, Ai Cho Aniki, by his former "options" Adon and Samson, Idaten returned in the Super Famicom fighting game Cho Aniki:Bakuretsu Rantouden. He, along with Benten, was portrayed by a live actor in Cho Aniki: Kyuukyoku Muteki Ginga Saikyou Otoko, but returned to sprite form in the Wonderswan card-Rpg Cho Aniki: Otoko no Tamafuda. While not appearing in the subsequent game, Cho Aniki: Seinaru Protein Densetsu, he has returned in the latest game, Rei Cho Aniki (Aka Cho Aniki Zero) for the PSP.
