And that's 4:3 support for standard definitions TV's. I HATE HATE HATE games that only support 16:9 widescreen and thus, if you have a standard def TV, your picture gets squished and smooshed into a sometimes unreadable mess. Bravo to Sucker Punch for doing the smart thing and giving SDTV users a chance to enjoy the game on the same level as those with HDTV's.

inFamous
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released May 26, 2009
inFamous is a third-person open-world action game in which players take control of Cole, an urban explorer / bike messenger changed by a mysterious blast that grants him electricity-based superpowers.
One of the best aspects of the game, that EVERY game SHOULD have.
Or just invest in a Hdtv?
How about developers invest in the option of letting people play their games in either 4:3 or 16:9?
Use a monitor?
Must be nice to have so much money that you can bash people for not having money to buy electronics with with things like rent, utilities, loans etc to pay for. I for one have had a real hard time playing games lately on my SD TV so seeing a company is decent enough to think about players who havent invested a ton in their set up is a nice change.
The thing is, I have the money to buy an HDTV right now. I choose not to because I already own a perfectly capable television. It's not worth the $400 for an upgrade in picture quality. And no, you are not missing out on a lot by playing PS3 or 360 games on an HDTV. I don't need to see more ridges on a brick wall, sorry.
As long as they keep packing in regular A/V cables with their systems, all games should be required to output in 4:3.
I 100% agree with your sentiment, however, your argument goes against the industry your investing your money in, which is one that makes it's money off bringing out more advanced technology for consumers to buy. Although it would be kick-ass, I don't think that great game idea will happen often now.
I haven't gotten around to getting an HDTV myself, and I hated not being able to read the text in games. Eventually, I did buy a VGA cable for my 360, which helped tremendously. You could probably get a halfway decent CRT monitor at a thrift store. But the cable itself sets you back a bit.
I kind of agree with not wanting to have to buy a new TV to be able to play the game, but I do want to get the best experience I can, which will hopefully someday include an HDTV.
I don't have a HDTV also, but that's not the problem!!!
Even if you haven't got a HDTV you should have a wide screen TV by now! but the problem is when they also mess that up!
Why cant they make it 16.9 for SDTV'S
Take street fighter 4, iv got wide screen but SD. and still it doesn't fit the screen properly, the ends get cut off!!!! wtf. all most developers have to do is put in a zoom or screen size e.g 12345, option in the game like mgs4 and little big planet....... and a txt size......
Problem solved.
it pissed me off to no end when i had a SD tv it was a nice tv pritty big but text in games looked terrable so i invested in a new moniter and hooked ps3 to it lol
" I'm not bashing someone because their lives are so shitty that they can't afford a small HDTV, just saying that your missing out on a lot if our still playing PS3/360 games on a standard TV. "
Republican ^^^
It is nice to find support for 4:3 standard definition! I remember how awful Dead Rising was on such a television. I was a university student at the time; there was enough wiggle room in my budget for a game now and then, but certainly not a decent HDTV. Having a standard definition TV does not make you a bad person.

" @PercyChuggs said:Ugh everytime I think of the Fed and the Rockefellers it just makes me so mad. Why have people not waken up and realized that the Federal Reserve is directly responsible for every financial problem since its foundation including the great depression. And the Rockefellers, why hasn't anyone assassinated them yet? Seriously." And that's 4:3 support for standard definitions TV's. And while we're at it can devs have modes for people with black and white tvs please!!? And where's my Xbox 360/PS3 connection for aerial? I don't have scart yet!
joking aside, an old CRT PC monitor will set you back about £20 / $30 and get you a much better picture. A further £10/$20 should get you an old flatscreen that would still do just as well and look hip and trendy
