It's been roughly 10 years or so, but finally we might have a final end in sight for this long-awaited project. It won't be the full MMO that was the original dream, but they are aiming for a smaller scale interim project to get things moving at least.

It must be over ten years now, I know I've been following them for 7 years at least. All I can say is I can't wait to throw money at this thing for the earliest access possible!

And who knows, maybe in my lifetime Infinity: The Quest for Earth will exist.

I need this game to be funded. I didn't follow this project for ten years just to see it fall flat on it's face at home stretch.

Still debating on how much of my ever diminishing pool of money should I sacrifice for this, but you all need to start thinking the same!

Developer AMA

Awesome new video showcasing the various moons being developed.

The gameplay may be sparse, but this game and its engine simply deserves to exist for the sake of being so groundbreaking.

It's like a version of No Man's Sky with features I actually want, and not just flying around empty worlds with little to no other players looking for space giraffes.

The fact that this early prototype (not even alpha yet) can already handle hundreds of players in one area is a good sign. Add in NPC ships and it won't feel very empty at all.

@mike: You dont understand. Some giraffes will have a slightly different hue.

I'll be honest, I was initially interested in Infinity a good few years back, but this is all a bit too little too late for me to take the plunge and donate.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the end product is GREAT, and if it actually comes out I will be first in line to pick up a copy, but I have my doubts still.

Kickstarter is now past its minimum goal! 35 hours to go. Maybe we'll hit the first stretch goal?
