    Overview

Infinos Gaiden is a 2D indie sci-fi side-scrolling shoot-'em-up developed and digitally published by Picorinne Soft for the PC (via Steam) on January 19, 2018.

It is the third game in the indie Japanese studio's Infinos series of deliberately-retro throwback shoot-'em-ups, stylized after shoot-'em-ups of the early '90s (such as the R-Type and Gradius series). It features music from Hyakutaro Tsukumo, known for scoring music for the Thunder Force series.

The game was later enhanced and released exclusively to arcades using exa-Arcadia hardware and a custom exA-Arcadia version of the STG Builder engine on February 20, 2020 as Infinos EXA. Hyakutaro Tsukumo composed new arranged tracks for the game's "EXA MODE" which features 2 new playable ships and a brand new game system focused on having full power ups from the start and shield that acts like a life bar. Using the upgraded custom engine, new features such as scanlines, 4K resolution and 1 frame input lag were added to the game.
